Review: The 2023 Orbea Wild M-LTD Raises the Bar for eMTB
It is a good deal - only 500 dollars per 1 kg of bicycle. Some non electric bicycles are a lot worse in this sense. Motorcycles are still unbeatable though in price-per-kg competition.

Pinkbike Poll: How Often Do You Ride Instead of Drive?
@bearstearns: Germany is way better than NA indeed. Got my very nice flip flops stolen from the change room in a swimming pool shortly after we moved to Canada from Germany.... In Germany I lost my sunglasses on a trail and someone brought them to a "Huette" and my friend got my sunglasses from the owner once month later. (Huette are places in mountains where you can enjoy a beer and some food after or during a proper hike in mountains)

@no-good-ideas: Aha that is a solution indeed. It would be great to buy something and use it for several decades and refrain from buying useless garbage before Halloween/Christmas. But don't stop, let us develop your logical chain a bit further. You end consumption economy and then - then what is billion of people in China/Vietnam/South Korea/etc who are occupied by making things which should be changed every couple of years if not months going to do? If we stop eating chocolate and transport fruits from southern hemisphere - what are those people going to do with all the cocoa/bananas/etc which they have in abundance and cannot consume anyways?

Review: 6 Months Tracking Recovery & Strain with the Whoop Strap
@ratedgg13: If you feel like a wreck it doesn't mean that your body is not ready for physical activities. It is your sympathetic system interferes with normal body function. I'm not an expert in psychology and hormones and such things, but often the best way to feel better is to go and do something.

Review: 6 Months Tracking Recovery & Strain with the Whoop Strap
Not that I'm defending anything, but I compared Whoop with my Garmin chest-strap heart-rate monitor and they are very consistent. Estimated amount of calories consumed is also very close both after MTB and gravel rides. I'm also completely convinced that the analysis of sleep cycles is VERY accurate and it is based on heart-rate variability metric. Sometime my little one wakes up before 6 several days in a row and then when I have chance to sleep longer afterwards Whoop always show that I have excessive fraction of REM sleep and I can feel it because I have lots of dreams these nights too. I do not know who the DCrainmaker is but his conclusion does seem biased or inaccurate for whatever reason. With that being said I'm not going to resume my Whoop subscription after the first minimum duration expires as it is relatively expensive and I learned all that I wanted about my sleep and training and I'm not going to change anything in the nearest future.

Amaury Pierron & Commencal 21 Team Manager Apologize for Instagram Stories
Racism in Europe is a problem, but for a completely different reason that in US. Everyone simply (silently) realizes that having millions of people migrating every year is not sustainable given the size of countries and existing population.

CyclingTips Digest: Gravel Suspension Forks, Silca's Phallic Computer Mount, A Sub-4 Kilogram Bike & More
There is nothing similar between my first rigid mountain bike which I got in 1998 and Specialized Diverge which I have now. If anything it is a beefed-up road bicycle. Not XC, not cyclo-cross. And gravel bikes do have their niche, their places, which you are not interested in or have not encountered.

Pinkbike Poll: How Do You Feel About eMTBs Today?
Speaking of "ebikes for commuters": when someone who doesn't have any idea about bicycle handling, inertia, balance, etc. gets injured on the trail on an e-bike - I would not care. However, when people are flying by on a commuting road or sidewalk on a 30 kg heavy e-bike with cheap brakes, I'm concerned about safety of children. In exact the same way I'm concerned about motorist who ignore cycling lanes and pedestrian crossings.
