It's by far the best light mount I've used. Zero play, zero rattle, one-handed attach and release, light goes back in the exact same position every time. They've been making essentially the same mount for two decades, it works.

People were saying this 15 years ago, but it's just not the case. It was the best mount design then, and it's still the best today, there is no competition.

Their graphic design is so incredibly bad compared to the semi-attractive derailleur, which only looks half decent because they've left it blank. Look under "shifter tech" on their website. They've straight up traced the TRP logo and made it say TRR. The website looks like something made by scammers in the mid-2000s.

@bman33: More than a decade ago, and you're still misreporting it. They didn't sue anyone, you should read the link you provided. A guy received a boilerplate cease and desist due to the fact he was selling wheels with "Roubaix" branding on them, when Specialized owned (and still owns) the Roubaix trademark for bikes and components in Canada. It had nothing to do with the shop name. There was a very good chance he would have lost if this had been tested in court. Within a couple days of hearing about it, Mike Sinyard had publicly acknowledged it was heavy handed, flown up to Calgary and apologised to them in person. The social media response was hysteria born of ignorance and the enjoyment people get from hating on a brand they deem to be stuffy and elitist. There are plenty of things you can criticise Specialized for, but this was a case of them handling something with more than appropriate contrition.

I'm guessing someone at Ibis retired or died. Raise a glass to what I can only imagine was a long line of designers who came and went, each having to beat their heads against a brick wall, slowly chipping away at the resolve of a company stubbornly sticking to an aesthetic that was arse-ugly 25 years ago. I think the new logo would go down better if it was a proper HT badge and not painted, but the new bikes look fantastic. Welcome to the 21st century, finally.

@PHX77: I think the comment you're referring to is only talking about the bike design, where as Derlicte singled out the logo. I'm not a fan of the new painted logos, they look cheap. But the new design language of the bikes themselves (I doubt they even had an industrial designer before) is welcome, and well overdue. They've long been one of the most, if not the most, consistently ugly brands.

@nnowak: Pedantic and wrong. All common carbon composites use some kind of epoxy matrix, which is a plastic. What was different about GG's process was they used a thermoplastic epoxy matrix, rather than thermoset. Both words refer to categories of plastics.

@fucktoryteam: Where I'm from, any decent bike shop is busy for at least a couple of weeks in advance - they don't have to sell bikes with headset cable routing to fill their diaries. If anything, these anti-end-user decisions are worse for bikeshops, as they can never really charge for how long the job actually takes. There are only so many hours in a work week. The more time I spend fishing hydraulic hoses through your HT, the less time I have to take care of my other customers. This assumption that bike shops want jobs to take longer so they can charge more shows a complete misunderstanding of how a good (and profitable) workshop is run.
