A Sneak Peek at 8 Flat Pedal Shoes - Pond Beaver 2020
No flex in the shoe and horrible style. Mountain biking is still stuck in the stone ages in terms of innovation and design. Looks like something my gramps would wear in a senior home, he'd probably ride better then most of the kooks wearing these.

2018 BC Enduro Series - What's Next!?
@canadianenduro: Modern mountain bikes and suspension has taken a lot of the skill out of riding. It would be nice if there was more technical terrain / sections and riders lost points for dabs (putting their foot down.)

Red Bull Rampage: Catch-22
It is important for consumers and participants to question the allocation of resources and the compensation package in these events. Going forward the boards of these organizations need to establish a new level of corporate social responsibility and directors should start balancing stakeholder demands with shareholder interests. In 2011 the UFC established a health plan for its fighters, and in surfing ZoSea the parent company that acquired the ASP they will be offering a pension plan to its athletes going forward. However, there has been little change in most postmodern sports (mountain biking, skateboarding, snowboarding, etc.) and there will be minimal change unless more athletes obtain executive and director level positions or the consumers create some financial pressures through their consumption patterns. A great doc on the NFL http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/league-of-denial/

Characters: Tig Cross and Sasha LeBaron - The Prophets
This article made my day! The Hornby Island Bike Fest was the most anticipated event of the year for any trials rider in Canada, a place where legends were made and parts were broken. Tig, Sasha (aka Fro), Latigo, Kevin, and Robin were the most influential riders for me back in the day. From attending their local demo's to hanging out in the old barn these guys always took the time to share any tips, tricks, and created some of the most memorable moments in my life. Tig also had the most influential style on my riding back in the day: the front tire hops, the fish (aka sidehop), and that time he rolled off a demo box still clipped in only to ride away clean. One day I'd like to organize a combined DH, XC, and trials event that's restricted to a single bike... perhaps Hornby would be the perfect location. Come to think of it, I wonder if anyone still has an old FreeFall bicycle frame? Thanks again for this great tribute to the legends from tribune. Team O.R.B forever!
