@Goose76: The UFC hasn't "bought out the competition" since 2011 with the strike force acquisition... the most recent absorption of Bellator fighters in 2024/2025 only happened because that company went tits up(just like almost every other acquisistion the UFC has made), they just offered contracts to the better fighters on the roster who would've been jobless or gone to lesser promotions with way lower pay... And guess what they still make considerably more than your average mtber. Literally every anti ufc post in this comment section is based on pure NPC politicism of everything now adays(yours included). This comment section is a text book example of exactly why the pro mtb scene will be nothing other than a side show for cycling. The community legitimately fights progress, and change, shit they'r having an aneurysm over two contemporary pro athletes from the same country discussing how cool a sport is for fun IN THEIR HOME COUNTRY.

This is two all time South African athletes discussing a sporting event in South Africa... not a single ufc marketing platform is likely to even repost this video. Which I'm sure you'll also find a way to deem "problematic".

This is literally just a current top athlete talking with a former top athlete about different sports. The UCI/WB could learn a thing or too from the UFC. Shit as much as the average pinker froth's at pushing women's mtb at every angle should look up to the UFC as the one mainstream pro sports franchise that has actually put women at the fore front and made it profitable.

@KJP1230: Yes I am well aware of how the general sentiment is that PE = Souless and bad. My only point is 99.9% of mtb brands are privetly held companies, and to your point their owned by passionate individuals. But these "passionate individuals" have to want to sell these companies for PE to get involved, its not like they can be subjects of a hostile take over like a public company can, which means these "passionate owners" want to sell and likely aren't as passionate as they once were. I also don't want to engage in a religous debate but these acquisitions are just literally private companies changing hands just not something that will ever get me riled up like alot of the commenters seem to here.

Giant and Shimano are the only two publicly traded mtb companies. I see this anti PE circle jerk pop up all the time as if that is "where the industry is moving and its bad." Its always been that way, it always be that way, because mtb is a niche hobby with low profit margins that no sensible publicly traded company wants to touch. I truly don't understand the circle jerk here, sure Private Equity bad or w/e the internet has told you to believe... But good god these comments just prove how clueless to reality the average mtber is.
