I was thinking the same, but didn't do the math. But, still more, some people have gorilla arms that are longer than their proportional height. This messes up the simplicity considerably. And then there is tree clearance, which is not nothing!

@jalopyj: Don't forget the power meter! Gotta see how much power "we" are "putting out". And, of course, we'll have to increase the battery size, lest we get stranded mid ride with a dead battery. Pretty soon, bikes will have dongles, too.

Looks like the exact same frame/bike as the 2020 and 2021 Nukeproof Mega alloy. They made it in both Carbon and Alloy back then, too. This is nothing new (except for the name change on the alloy model). Still a great deal, which is something Nukeproof is known for. Good on them to keep it up.

@cyclotoine: True, but they're rare, and almost no bikes are spec'd with 'em (OEM). And Shimano doesn't have anything shorter than 165mm.

@ResidentNarwhal: Execpt that the range in which you can generate power with the strongest muscles in your body is significantly increased with shorter cranks. It's also quite bit easier on the knees and hips for the same reason. Add to this the fact that rising the seat height also gives a rider a mechanical advantage. Back in the day everyone wanted 175 mm cranks (177.5 and 180 mm for time trialing). We were under the false assumption(s) that you present that leverage is everything. But when dealing with a human body that simple calculus goes out the window. I now use 155 mm cranks and have not changed from a 32 t chainring. I hardly notice, but I'm able to get on top of my pedals much more quickly to accelerate, even on technical climbs, etc. Finally, shorter crank arms yield far fewer pedal strikes.

What happens when the post breaks, which given that it is threaded — each thread being a stress riser — is likely to happen, and the post falls into the rim?

When are the big manufacturers going to see the wisdom in shorter crank arm options?

@warmerdamj: The lift access is a joke. It's my only real complaint, both at the pro level and in the enduros I have done. The whole point of enduro is to pedal, and then smash.

It's gonna be hard to improve on the fun factor of the Tallboy 5 with Cascade link.
