Possibly their distributor in China was convinced they could sell a bike with those specs and committed to buy enough to make the bike happen. But Intense's other IDs around the globe were no into it so it stays in China for now.

Spotted: The New and Not-so Secretive Scott Gambler
How could "Bolt-on drop-outs should allow the Gambler to switch rear wheel sizes without changing the geometry." Only way to not change the geo is to leave the axle in the exact same spot. Maybe change wheel size AND change geo is what was meant?

MCPB Gondola != to any gondola at a western resort. This is like some someone announcing a new 6 person detachable chair and commenting "Hey did they forget about those awesome T-bars they used to make?"... Yes, yes they did.
