Finally it’s settled which 25 riders will have the honour to compete at the Red Bull District Ride. Next to Brandon Semenuk (CAN) – the Freeride Mountain Bike World Tour Champion of a few days standing – the riding field includes absolute freeride legends as well as the biggest newcomer talents of the year – there has never been such a high-profile riding field! For the complete riders’ list as well as further info about every rider, go to www.redbulldistrictride.com. It’s definitely worth checking out who will rock Nuremberg’s city center for the best trick competition (Fr. September 9 at 6pm) and the finals (Sat. September 10 from 3pm to 5pm)! For a chance to actively take part in the biggest contest of the year, you’ll need to become an official forerunner of the Red Bull District Ride! Send a link with your best tricks and style until August 20th to redbulldistrictride@rasoulution.com and you could be starting in Nuremberg along with the best riding field in freeride history!

huge crowds in Nuremberg

Because of his really impressive season and thus sky-high point score in the overall ranking of the FMB World Tour 2011, it is already official that Brandon Semenuk (CAN) is this year’s FMB World Tour Champion. Obviously, that doesn’t mean that he will just lean back and relax during the finals. Brandon will do all he can to achieve a perfect season; meaning he will try to win each of the five events that count towards his overall point score and in this way make history in the World Tour’s second year. He can only reach this goal by making it to the top of the podium in Nuremberg so you’re not going out on a limb by saying that exciting battles are to be expected. Especially Cameron Zink (USA), current number 2 in the FMB World Tour overall ranking, will make it as hard as he can for Brandon!

Next to absolute freeride legends such as Darren Berrecloth (CAN), Cameron McCaul (USA) or Kyle Strait (USA), Nuremberg will also see a few new talents compete at the most spectacular urban freeride event of the year, some of whom were able to secure a spot in the riding field by winning a wild card. Young Canadian Anthony Messere is definitely worth pointing out in this context. Only 15 years of age, he is bringing home one victory after another – his last achievement was a second place at the Bearclaw Invitational (CAN). We can absolutely expect a great show from him in Nuremberg!

One of the riders who is sure to be at the Red Bull District Ride is Amir Kabbani (GER). He is sharing his wisdom with us in his blog on www.redbulldistrictride.com. It is definitely worth a read, so check in on the pro as he prepares for the long awaited contest and shares some inside info.

 MESSERE FOR THE WIN!!

Its anyone's game with 3 big doubles! Slopstyle is a little different then throwing down on some perfect jumps.
  • 6 1
 MESSERE!
  • 5 0
the three doubles are only the very bottom of the course
  • 13 1
Pilgrim is gonna be deadly on this course. He kills it on the jumps and he's been doing good in slope this year. gonna be a crazy contest.
  • 6 1
 Semenuk! for the win!!!
  • 1 0
I know but I feel that who ever busts the biggest tricks on them will win. Don't get me wrong I want to see Messere win but he has some big names to knock of the podium. I hope he can do it.

No one notice that the photo is old?

I'm expecting Söderström to do better than in the big slope comps earlier this summer (if he's going to compete). It's 'bout the time for him to be on the podium again!

I don't actually care who wins this time. I just hope it's a friggin' sick contest and we get to see some great runs and mind blowing tricks!
  • 1 0
well theres no doubt about that its gonna be a crazy sick comp!
  • 1 0
Ever since soderstrom switched to spec he hasn't been doing all that great
  • 1 0
Yup, but I don't think it's about the bike. That p.3 seems to fit him suprisingly well.

haha, like the pinkbike kids needed ANOTHER reason to by an NS...
  • 1 0
Lol, true. Oh wait... PB kids will get crazy about Stouts when Rattsl's bike gets really popular. Then NS will be in a big trouble. Will happen Wink
  • 1 0
No it wont. Not to big of a fan of rattsl's frame.
  • 1 0
Seriously though, if NS had to watch out for some brand not to step on their toes, it would be Dartmoor.
  • 1 0
Not really. Its chromoly frames vs aluminum. It all depends on personal preference.
  • 1 0
Dartmoor make aluminum and cromo frames so which ever your personal prefence is you could ride a dartmoor.
  • 1 0
didnt realise they had switched their high end frames to cromo, might have to check those out next year.
  • 1 0
yeh their top frames like the cody are now cromo. The cody is lighter and cheaper then a majesty and they're both cromo, have simalar geo and both are heat treated after welding, they are really very alike the only big difences are the price and weight. I personally can't see why someone would get a majesty rather then a cody. But then i suppose i just love Dartmoor.
  • 1 0
 theyre all pretty nice bikes..
  • 1 0
Just for the record, Dartmoor has always had Cromo frames on their line up, but I don't know if they've been available in other countries. I think the reason why people buy a lot of NS parts rather DM (even if a similar DM part would look better on the paper) is all the talk about DM, some of it BS, some not. DM hasn't also been around for as long as NS, so it hasn't got the reputation. But ya, they're all pretty nice Smile

 Yeh like the "crackmoor" BS.

why the fuck is kelly magarry riding, not thrying the hate or anything but the only tricks ive ever seen him do are backglips and 360s. theres so way that he even stands a chance against, guys throwing down double backs and frontflips, why not scratch his name off the list and put like benny philips or some wwho can throw down in such a sick event, but thats just me so whatever
  • 3 0
gotta love the "Kanada" under all the Canadian riders haha
  • 5 0
in german canda is spelled with a k
  • 2 0
except for Gulevich, they spelled it with a C for him
  • 1 0
Also part German and English for California as well. Look at C Macs and Strait's profiles.
  • 3 0

  • 1 0

  • 1 1

  • 1 0
I gonna be cool to see a good mix of internattional riders who haven't riden together go head to head
  • 1 0
I was thinking the same thing. I'm stoked to see Antoine Bizet and Szymon Godziek compete against all the regular North American FMB riders! Such an amazing line-up!
  • 2 0

  • 2 2
25.000.00 for riding a bike wtf lol
  • 10 1
Skaters win over 100 grand in a bunch of their comps. 25k is nothing.
  • 6 0
skate boarding is also a much bigger sport. mountain biking is just evolving and growing, soon mountain bikers will take the spot light from the skate boarders, especially with all the comps in citys and the crazy amount of advertising that the sport is starting to do
  • 3 1
 Golfers win millions...
  • 1 0
 he deserve every penny..
  • 5 0
But their sport only requires one ball, so lets not compare
  • 1 0
