Drew Bezanson's Learning Curve - Episode 3

by Red Bull Bike

In this week’s episode, we find Drew putting in time at his secret laboratory, Joyride 150 in Toronto. With the mercy of a foam pit, Drew sucks his way to perfection as he continues to expand his growing repertoire of slopestyle tricks in what seems like record time as he prepares for his competitive debut at the Swatch Rocket Air.

Using the foam pit is key because of how fast I have to learn this stuff. If I was going to do it the old fashioned way on a regular jump, we probably wouldn’t be filming right now!” - Drew Bezanson

But sometimes no amount of practice can fully prepare you for the real thing as Drew finds himself suddenly sidelined during training at his first contest.

The Learning Curve is a six-part series released every Monday that captures the high-fives, tumbling lows and humbling experience of Drew Bezanson’s first season on the FMB World Tour of slopestyle mountain biking as he attempts to earn a spot at Red Bull Joyride on Sunday, August 21st.

Tune into Red Bull Joyride live on Red Bull TV on August 21st to see the conclusion of Drew Bezanson’s journey.

Don't get why they are trying to make it seem like he's gonna earn a spot in joy ride.... we all know damn rights that he will ride redbull joyride if he earns a spot or not... redbull will let him ride hands down

Especially if they're hosting this series and joyride is their event. Good call. A little scripted reality TV for mountainous bicycling

@anchoricex: He's actually doing this series to show everyone that he wants to earn his spot.

I honestly don't care if he earns it, points wise. The dudes at the bottom of these contests, though great riders, aren't a threat to the podium. Rather see whether Drew can shake it up than some 60 point effort from a series regular.

It's so annoying isn't it- normal people will have to climb up the ranks in the FMB rankings in order to gain a wildcard entry in Joyride- Def a hard slog to get recognised!

@steezer: That's life, It's all about who you know.

@ThePeanutGallery: or rather, who knows you. It's not as if Drew is an unknown

@kjjohnson: unknown to MTB yes. Lots of guys work their ass off to get where they are on the FMB tour why should he get a free ride cuz he's unreal at riding bmx. I say if he does not podium at CFF then give the spot to someone who does...... like max Frederickson or how ever u spell his name

@riotpride: while I actually agree with you, I get the feeling that his spot in Crankworx may be a foregone conclusion based on his previous exploits (not necessarily on a mountain bike)

Lyrics from the intro: "...If you ain't talkin' dollars, I can't understand you" How appropriate Smile . This series is interesting but its preeeeety light on actual riding content.

This series is so awesome, it truly stands out of these days' 'daily edits'. Hell, I'm even inspired by the quality of production here, yet I've never done any editing in my life haha. And Bezanson is a beast. So good.

Its THE PLACE to learn. Its just impossible not to learn something new at joyride. I wish i would live for the winter in toronto.

i was there once, learned backflips half an hour after i walked through the door!

 @KyleIsaman: You sir, chat shit

@nasha: He might have been real close to backflips before or gone there with the express intention of learning backflips. Foam pit -> resi is a real fast way to progress as you can throw things that would otherwise scare your tits right off your body.

He'll hopefully get it at CFF if not I bet he will be one of the rotaters of anyone gets put out of action. Either way good chance seeing him compete at joyride and placing high

True man. Still only 720p? Monster Energy releases their stuff in 4k on Youtube.

Red bull media player for some reason only works nice depending on internet provider here in the UK. It just doesn't seem very optimized if that's the right word.
