Video: Creating Bike Suspension with Magnets
PB commenters polarized as ever. Some are attracted to this tech, some repelled. Of course PB commenters will certainly point out this was not a Furze, but rather just another attempt to generate some electricity for a bike industry in flux.

24 MTB Cranks Ranked According to Stiffness
@onawalk: "they're beautiful and if I could justify it I'd own them"....lmao/ staahp I justified it for myself because I love ti and think it is the superior material for cranks, and yes they do look cool too, so I bought them. And I absolutely LOVE them, they have been worth every penny. They are incredibly stiff strong and they laugh off every rock strike. And even if they do get scraped, you just refinish it with scotchbrite pad. So it's funny to me you think it's all about vanity, sounds like sour grapes dude. Also youre acting like they're pure unobtainium...I was lucky enough to find a second set of eeWings nearly new on the second hand market local for $550. In fact there's several sets on PB used ads right now under $600. Yes that is still expensive, but you're going to have the one of the best performing, best looking cranks for a long time for not much more than a new set of carbon cranks. "You can want and have cool shit, thats rad and I fully support it" Naw, you dont support it, you're bitching about someone having cool shit just because you think your old carbon cranks are equivalent. "but its as useful as a custom point job" Well if you successfully convince yourself of that, I am sure that can be a viable cope for not having a set of cranks you started your comment claiming you would love to have. I am still going to be riding these amazing cranks for a long time to come without any worry about their durability. And you too can totally do the same on your carbon cranks as long as you ignore the fact it's a completely inferior, less durable material that has a definitive shelf life and fails catastrophically without any warning. lmao

@onawalk: I'd also add that the fatigue life of the two materials are apples and oranges. Titanium has a very, very long fatigue life. Carbon fiber, even when kept in good condition, has a much shorter fatigue life. Now further reduce from carbon's lessor fatigue life UV damage, potential internal manufacturing defects, and for me, the inevitable surface penetrations that break up the composite structure. So I am glad for you that your old carbon cranks are still working for you. But it's silly to suggest cranks made from a fragile material with a shorter lifespan aren't at least as valuable if you are committed to keeping them for as an investment-grade product.

@onawalk: If all you're doing is scuffing the finish then there is no point in replacing them so I am glad for you that you have been able to keep them intact. The areas I ride in the cranks are getting gouged, scraped and pitted over the course of a season. Much more than scuffs. Given the nature of carbon failure and the cost of breaking one ($ and risk to health) I replace beat up carbon cranks. So the ti crank gives me the weight and stiffness of a carbon crank but they don't even flinch when they run into jagged granite. They take abuse carbon cranks get mauled on.

Disagree on value. Ti cranks are tough enough to last for years. My eeWings have been through 3 bikes in 5 years and in that time I could have gone through 2 or more sets of carbon cranks. They still look great, have barely any wear and very little in the way of blemishes. That's 5 years of east coast janky bike park riding. Cane Creek also sells a conversion kit that brings the 3 bolt mount up to 8 bolt. The fact that I will get many more years out of them and they still look fantastic since you can refinish them with the scotchbrite pad to me makes the high cost worth it. Plus you can bag them on the used market for a little more than a good carbon crank and they will likely be equivalent to new, they barely wear down.
