Jun 23, 2023Transition Trans Am, Almost new
$1500 USD2016 Transition Trans Am Large
I bought this bike as a frame in 2016, built it up in 2019, but I only rode it a couple times due to injuries. Almost all the parts have 2 rides on them as I describe below.
The frame in 4130 Cromoly and has adjustable dropouts. It has been treated with frame saver.
Stans Flow MK3 29 wheels with Neo hubs have 2 trail rides, the spacing is 12/142 on the rear and 15x100 up front. Non boost.
It has a Rock Shox Pike 120 mm Solo air fork with upgraded damper. It is a RC model but it has RCT internals. It has low speed compression damping and 3 settings of compression, open, pedal, closed. I used this for one season on a different bike and switched the fork to this one when I sold that bike as parts.
The cranks are Race face turbine crankset with 32 tooth narrow wide chainring with a 30 mm bsa bottom bracket. These have 2 trail rides.
It has an 11 speed Shimano XT drivetrain with Shimano XTSL-M8000 11 speed shifter, XT CS-M8000 11 speed cassette with 11-42T gearing, andXT RD-M8000 11 speed rear derailleur, GS cage, medium cage with XT chain chain
The brakes are Slx brakes 675 brakes with 180 mm front rotor and 160 mm rear rotor which are shimano ice tech rotors. I have bled them and they work great. They have season on them. I had used them on another bike before but are in perfect shape.
Easton Havoc Carbon Bar 750 mm
It has a Lev integra 150 mm dropper seat post which has been used on 2 trail rides.
The headset is Cane Creek 40 and has been used 2 rides.
The tires are a Specialized Purgatory 2.4 up front and a Purgatory 2.3 on the rear that is close to new. I had a Maxxis Ardent on and it's in come of the pictures but I changed it because I saw the frame says it is max 2.3 but there is plenty of room imo for the Ardent too.
The saddle is a WTB Rocket V saddle and it’s been used on other bikes.
Easton ea 70 stem 70 mm 6 degree rise which has some use on it, maybe a season.

Results and Overall Standings: World Cup DH Val di Sole - Finals
Did protour own a specialized bike and get tossed over the bars or something? Seems like a likely conclusion. It couldn't be the rider. The claim that Brosnan went over the bars more on the new demo than the old demo, I don't know if that's true or not, but maybe he's adopted a more aggressive riding style. Regardless, you could maaaybbe make the case that Gwin is so incredible he can overcome a bike's '"disadvantages" and win, but to say both he and Brosnan excelled despite the bike just makes you look stupid and unwilling to admit your error. Companies should be lining up to hire him to design bikes if he's so much more brilliant and educated than their own engineers.

Yep, definitive proof that specialized bikes suck and no one can compete on them.

Agreed. I like that the music is soft enough to hear the tires. Adds to the calming nature of this video.
