1. Super stoked to see love for the WV enduro series on PB. Excited as hell for this race.
2. $140+ for two FULL days of racing including lift tickets? Not terrible
3. The last DH race at Bryce (Sunday) was $125 for 2 friggin timed runs and 2 lift tickets. Also, a Bryce run is 2-3 minutes long. This is way, way better. I'm not paying $100+ dollars for 6 minutes of racing.
@Alias530 -> yo a road ride is a lot easier to put on and likely has more people involved so they don't have to charge so much. Also, if this race is $140 then that's a bargain or at least on par. I paid over $100 for the Scott Enduro Cup @ the Canyons, a one day race. I would happily pay $140 for a well organized 2 day race, especially because I'm not doing them every weekend, just a couple times a year.
I was just up there this weekend pre-riding some of the stages. There were a good number of other WV enduro series people doing the same because the park is closed next weekend due to GNCC.
This is going to put some abuse on my Bronson. I love the muddy rocks and roots of snowshoe!
I'll end up paying that much for a usac license and a Pro GRT race, ONE day race! plus drive 16 hours round trip. Snowshoe is an awesome venue for an enduro race, and because it's called Enduro, it should cost more
It'll be a pro level race though, with lift access. They'll be some big guns at this race. Definitely the best of the wv enduro series. Still kinda pricey though. There better be good live music, beer, and food included.
The last event I paid to be in was a 100 mile road ride with food/drink every 10 miles, big lunch, big dinner, and a bunch of stuff (backpack, water bottle, local nuts, etc) given as swag. $65 for that. $140 just sounds STEEP
140 dollars for two days of racing. That's 8 stages that have to be prepped, taped and all professionally TIMED. Suddenly 140 dollars doesn't seem outrageous for all the work that has to be put in and the people that make events like this possible.
It includes lift tickets. If you are a pass holder they will refund that part. Lift tickets are $40 a day. Good trails are NOT CHEEP! Every one wants all 3. Price, quality, and service. You can get 2 at the same time but not all 3.
no matter your argument im gonna say its still pricey. i dont see the value in it. ive ridden snowshoe and know the trails are nice but that is still high IMO
i plan on doing that later in the season. the riding up there is great and im not knocking the park.
im just a average guy rider that likes to race for shits and giggles. i would literally spend $140(+lic fee, +hotel room, +gas from nova, +food, ++++++beer) to come last place, thats not fun.

The massanutten lift was two trucks, gas costs more then lift power.
Still pricey when you think about it.
