Henry’s Waffle House: Mountain Biking is Getting Too Easy
This reminded me of the Greg LeMond quote "it never gets easier, you just go faster". I think this is true for both road and mountain biking. Better bikes allow us to ride further and on more challenging trails, but we're still putting in the same amount of effort. If I'm going on a two-hour ride, it's a two-hour ride regardless of the bike selection. It'll just be a longer distance on a carbon road bike instead of a beach cruiser. I would say that makes it more fun as well.

Field Test: Kona Process 134 29 - Can't Stop, Won't Stop
It's a fun descender if you put some proper brakes on.

Field Test: Kona Process 134 29 - Can't Stop, Won't Stop
I have this bike. I think the original brake spec is some low end Shimanos? Anyway I put 4-pot SLX brakes on mine. Around here we don't have many long climbs, but rather rolling terrain with alternating short climbs and descends. For that the bike works really well and the short chainstays make it fun to ride. I don't think it's great value for money, but I got mine used with a good deal so I have no complaints.

Why Taj Mihelich Has Sympathy for Mountain Bike Designers
This was a well written and informative article. Thanks! I also have a BMX background so it was nice to see George French commenting as well.

Performance 34 fork and GX for damn near $4k is also outrageous. The Chameleon has always been overpriced even by Santa Cruz standards, and seems that the trend continues here.

Intense Announces '951 Series' Aimed at New Mountain Bikers
I find it strange that everyone is complaining. A carbon bike with decent suspension for under 4000 bucks seems like a pretty good deal to me. Who cares what the marketing copy says? Geometry (especially seattube angle) seems a bit oudated though.

@tankthegladiator: The Yari is a full pound lighter, so I would assume many riders would still prefer it.

Field Trip: Canyon's $1,200 Stoic Is All You Need to Have Fun
I have this bike and it's heavy because of the wheels. The Alexrims wheelset is like 2500 grams and the Schwalbe tires, while grippy and durable, are also super heavy.

Field Trip: Canyon's $1,200 Stoic Is All You Need to Have Fun
US price seems high. I bought this for 799 €, put on a Rockshox 35 Gold that I found used and a dropper. It's awesome and the geo is spot on.
