Steffi's China - Part Two - Panda Mania
Back in 2006, my wife and I did a 4 week mountain bike trip in South-Western China, that took us from Kunming accross many passes to the Tibetan Highland. We had a (hardtail ;) ) bike built to our specs in the only seasoned bike shop of the city (at virtually a fraction of the cost) and later sold it in Shangri-La at the end of our tour for the same price we had paid That part of China is breathtakingly beautiful, and people are veeeeeeeery nice . We were sleeping in an ultralight tent at night, which caused a lot of pity in bypassers, who thought we were really the poorest guys on the planet, not being able to afford neither a bus for transportation, nor a bed for sleeping ;) I still dream of that trip today

Video: POV with Martin Maes
it's just you ;) Look at the Enduro stages in France (where all started). There are several Enduro series, and they have been descent-oriented for a long time (note that eg lifts are part of the transition stages in France)

Pinkbike Poll - Have You Had a Near Death Experience on Your Bike?
3 years ago, I bunny-hopped a tree that had fallen onto a high-speed section of a trail I had ridden many times ago. Unfortunately just about didn't make the necessary high to clear, barely touched the tree with the rockring, but enough to send me into a quite horrendous fall that I took squarely on my head... I was wearing one of these Enduro-type helmets, and virtually destroyed it with the impact. Laying on the ground, I was super-scared that I would end up paralysed.... Fortunately though, I have rather strong muscles on my neck, and while my neck and head did hurt a couple of weeks afterwards, nothing was broken... From this moment on, I have never ridden again without full-face helmet and leatt brace. My learning from the incident is that you never really know what can happen, and how it will. Accidents happen, so better be prepared. I crashed many times since, and as I continue to progress got through many situations that were objectively ways more dangerous than the trail that I had ridden at the time, but also due to proper protection, didn't get hurt seriously anymore. My takeway: If you get a second chance to continue living the life you like the way you like, don't gamble it away.... Learn from your errors!

The Finale in Finale - EWS 7/Superenduro 6 in Finale Ligure
Without a Fullface, you're likely to get seriously hurt in Finale when you crash... All stages they run are more demanding than a typical DH track in the US...
