Entries for the Cannondale British Enduro Series are now open for all riders entering the elite female and elite male categories. The remaining category entries will open on Saturday the 2nd of January at 10:00. The British Enduro Series – The BES will be delivered by the tried and trusted team that brings you the successful British Downhill Series – The BDS. This will comprise of five Enduro style events held around the U.K at the following venues; Ae Forest, Afan, Dyfi, Eastridge and Innerleithen.
The event itself will comprise of six individual timed stages over the two day event weekend. Riders will have strict start times for each stage meaning they will be under both physical and mental pressure to land at the next stage start line on time and ready to race. Failure to start on time will mean the riders will receive a time penalty. The first three stages will be raced on Saturday afternoon, those three times will be collated and count as seeding. This will then be added to the three stages to be raced on Sunday afternoon to give a combined time for the event (over six stages). Open practice will commence each morning for the afternoon's race stages. The final stages of each day will finish in the finish arena adding to the impact of the event. Each live stage will be covered by two medics and several stage marshals.
Riders race in age categories from the age of 14 up to 50 years plus. The cream of the crop will be the elite men and women who will be racing for increased exposure and prize money of £6,000 over the series, supplied by Continental Tyres.

Have lessons not been learnt for UKGE events? I have freezing, wet memories of Afan a few years ago in march that's hard to shift.
