I'm really glad I got out of this industry when I did. What a sham.

Opinion: The Hot Chip Has Gone Cold - Flip Chips Don't Deliver
As a designer and builder of custom bikes, I say boo hoo to your little problems with an innovative solution to adjustable geometry/suspension performance. I put a 63 degree head angle on a freeride bike in 2009 and everyone I knew said it was too slack. Now you see that on a trail bike. Longer chainstays? Lower bottom brackets? This whole industry is hopeless. At least chips give the rider an option on their preference. I like my 26" wheels. I like short chainstays because i'm not going for a speed record. I want a bike I can move around without getting in my own way.

Bike Check: Isak Leivsson's Homemade Steel Downhill Bike
@themountain: I know because of the fab I've done. I have a hydraulic pipe bender and a tubing roller, but they just don't cut it with the thin stuff. I'm still glad I have the tools for other applications tho. I utilized the technique this guy did for my bikes because I had no other way. I would love to have friends at a company that has that equipment. Booze bribes and donuts go a long way.

Bike Check: Isak Leivsson's Homemade Steel Downhill Bike
@themountain: No dude. It doesn't work that way with thin steel tubing. You need a mandrel bender to get it done right. Else it just kinks.

Bike Check: Isak Leivsson's Homemade Steel Downhill Bike
I like how they mentioned the bb being welded backwards. I did the same thing on one of my first bikes. Easy to do in the "heat" of things. Cool build tho. Experimentation is fun.

Review: Deviate Highlander - There Can Only Be One
My concern with the chain wrap is not with derailment as much as chain slippage. On the bikes I make, I found that having a chain guide on that wraps around the chain ring more was necessary to avoid slippage under heavy torque. Perhaps the newer style chainring helps this, but that was my thought since I've been down this development road before.
