Throwback Thursday: 7 Bikes Turning 30 in 2022
@ilovedust: it's not a reflector - it's a rear light, hence the BLT lights on the front. The rear mech thingy was a Bullet Bros chain tensioner.

Throwback Thursday: 7 Bikes Turning 30 in 2022
I had three of these, two mohos and a shockwave - they were fun bikes at the time. This was my first -

Pinkbike Poll: How Much Does Your Bike *Actually* Weigh?
My longer travel bike weighs more than my shorter travel bike - mostly because it has bigger wheels and all the weight compromises that come with that. The 'trail' shorter travel bike, being a 26er and nearly 10 years old is 25lbs with pedals and is way more fun than the compromised bike.

First Look: Forkmods' 20x110 to 15x110 Axle Conversion Kit
One of these for my 17mm fork would be great to work with a 15mm axle

We Are One's New Handlebar and 26" Carbon Rim - Sea Otter 2019
@SirWonky: I have a 26" bike with a 27.5" fork - the axle to crown is a little higher, but it's fine. As it's an older bike, I've got an angleset in there to tweak the geometry anyway. Also allows me to run a 27.5" or 26" front wheel depending on how I feel. (best of both worlds?) My other bike is also a 26" and i'm not planning on getting rid of that either, but am already eying up a replacement 27.5" fork for it

Review: The 2019 Raaw Madonna is a Boutique Beauty
There are already alternatives to star nuts - expanding wedges - have one for my carbon steerer, not had any issues with it for the last 8 years. After all it's only used to preload the bearings and the stem holds everything together

Pinkbike Poll: What Size Are Your Tires?
The second hand market for 26 is still pretty good (in the last couple of years I've bought two carbon santa cruz frames - nomad and blur LT for £300 and £500) I've not seen a massive reduction in availability of 26" parts yet, and quite a few places still have new old stock - for example I also bought a set of sram roam 50 wheels (pre carbon) for £300 the pair off ebay new (they were £500+ each originally)

Now THAT Was a Bike: Mountain Cycle San Andreas
Had three of these, two of the mohos (hardtail) and a shockwave (original one) - all of them snapped or cracked in under two years some way or other, except for one of the moho's that was nicked. (photos of all of them - Nice looking bikes and fun at the time, but I've got three carbon fiber bikes now that are approaching ten years old and i wouldn't go back. Saying that, I still have the shockwave which might be salvageable and the Mr Dirt forks - and both are crying out for a retro build
