@powderturns: I like it. You never have any dirt getting into the cables and starting to cause drag..... Granted, if anything goes wrong a bodge is dramatically harder to pull off!

@showmethemountains: kind of.... Nukeproof is a brand ran by Hotlines (uk distribution Co), CRC bought Hotlines.... It's the same thing but has an extra step in there.

Get your new pads. Put some water on them. Rub the braking surfaces together until they start to grip. It isn't a full bed in but I find the brakes switch on very quickly after doing this. Another way is to ride the bike with the brakes on so they get really hot then throw some water onto the brakes to set the compound. I prefer the first method, less rapid heating and cooling of parts and I don't have to leave the shed!
