Spotted: Matt Hunter's Aluminum Specialized Stumpjumper Has a Cable Actuated Derailleur
I have to agree a little with @DaneL, I don’t know if this is causation / correlation but I have two bikes with AXS, one in a warm and dry country and one in a wet and cold country. The one in the warm country has had similar issues with the remote slipping, slower shifting and since it’s more hilly, I have had scenarios where the shifting was too slow at moments. The positive is that I don’t get to ride that bike that often so every time I go back I just take it (charge it) and go, without having to readjust my cable because it stretched from being parked for months. The wet country bike’s shifting is a little more crisp and quicker, could be placebo, but the land is much flatter here, so less aggressive shifting is necessary. Mind you, they are the same bikes with just one model year difference (same components just different wheels and brakes). On another behalf, my aggressive hardtail runs on SLX 12 speed, and the derailleur and shifting has been far more reliable than any other drivetrain I’ve had, and mind you I beat the shit out of that bike, drop it, hit the derailleur, hit the cage, wash it with pressure washer, and it still works flawless, so I am considering to maybe shift my other bike to XT. Another point is that there have been multiple instances where I did not take the main bike and took the hardtail solely because the battery wasn’t charged and I couldn’t be bothered to wait, so I assume I would be far more annoyed if I didn’t have that second bike.

Video: Flat Pedals Win Medals - But Are They Only Meant for Downhill?
TLDR; I don’t know how to ride flat pedals, so I force my opinion so others can’t ride it too!

Video: Head to Head POVs from Amaury Pierron & Dakotah Norton at the Val di Sole DH World Cup 2024
Pierron’s suspension is more bouncy, seems like Dakotah may have been riding with a too soft setup, also Pierron seems to gain some time in the corners

Value Field Test: Cannondale Habit 4 - Good Geometry, Not So Good Components
i’ve never ridden this bike but ridden bikes with the same fork and same drivetrain, you guys are too used to modern hyper stable long bikes, compare these suspension parts with a bike from 2017 and it feels very similar, and we all raced hard back then, just get used to it and have fun

Pinkbike Poll: Center Lock or 6-Bolt Brake Rotor Mounting?
Worked in bike shop for quite some time, I have to give props to centerlock, not one issue throughout this entire time except one stripped thread, and one where someone put chain lube as grease and it unscrewed. Whilst on 6 bolt I’ve seen about everything, stripped, rusted, filed down, drilled through, ripped threads, 2 bolt 4 bolt 3 bolt roadies, over torqued under torqued, loose all of them, and the pain to my fingers when the chinesium bolts round off because someone over tightened it, unforgivable. From an engineers standpoint as I’m also a Design Engineer, tolerances have to be much tighter and it has to be torqued properly, once that is done it can sustain higher loads due to interlocking of the sequencing pins.
