I felt sick after watching Rampage this year. Extrapolate over 20 more years and 20 more Rampages - unless something changes, someone will likely die. I am conflicted - on one hand, I do not want the event to be cancelled as I know it is good for the sport and the riders. But on the other hand, I do not want to someone to die in the competition. As far as the judging goes, I think the riders would be happier about the judging if there were more opportunities for big payouts. Kyle Strait said in an interview that first place is awarded 100K while 5th places is awarded 15K. Perhaps, if riders saw 50k for 5th, 60k for 4th, up to 100k for 1st, then they would be much happier. As well as more categories such as biggest drop, biggest whip, biggest air, etc., all with payouts associated. More riders making more money equals more happy riders. As far as making the fans happy about the judging - that will never happen. There are millions of people watching the event and you can’t please everyone. On the internet, unfortunately the whiniest people have the loudest voices.
