@ThinkTank45: I thought he said he burped the front tire. At those speeds and conditions a half full tire in a race run might collapse the side knobs. It's not completely flat though.
I wouldn't say it was stupid. He's focused, adrenaline is pumping the crowd is cheering the finish line is insight.

I remember seeing Jjimmy's Yeti at Mammoth Kamikaze. Those guys were hitting 50-60MPH on the downhill. Running 1.96 -2.1 tires, steep head tubes and polymer suspension forks.
