5 Years in the Making: Cumberland Opens Their Most Ambitious Backcountry Trail Project Yet
I'm the first to criticize some of the Cumby trail ratings.
That said the terrain/trails in the new 979 loop are definitely not "Blue at the most". If you ride hard trails on the Sea to Sky the tech challenge isn't going to blow your mind. Presumably you are not traveling to Cumberland for that experience. But I wouldn't send someone who is not comfortable on black diamond trails on this ride.
In particular if you are pedaling your way around the route without a motor I wouldn't underestimate the combination of the physical effort and technical challenge.
I've ridden this route a few times prior to the official opening and expected them to call it a double black since Cumby ratings are often inflated. So I was pleasantly surprised to see the black diamond rating. I think that's a fair assessment of the ride.

Kona Announces Mixed-Wheel Unity Bikepacking Hardtail
Kona has a Canadian HQ. Not sure if that's the main office or not, but you can buy it from there if that's more palatable. It's coming from Taiwan anyways.

What Pinkbike's Tech Editors Actually Wear on Rainy Rides: The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly
Yup. RRP Max up front. PDW splash guard on the DT and MH in the rear. Riding all winter on the Wet Coast is pretty comfortable and a lot less messy.

Revel Bikes Partners with Industry Nine to Fully Honor Lifetime Wheel Warranty
It depends how you setup the transaction. If Company A sells a product with a warranty and you buy all the shares in Company A than despite being a new owner you still owe the previous customers a warranty. If Company A sells a product with a warranty and you setup Company B that buys all the IP/designs/trademarks/old stock of Company A...then the new entity doesn't legally have an obligation to honour any warranties from Company A. You may choose to do something out of good will to retain customers, but you don't have to.
