@jasbushey: I would say it's up to you. Remember, 4 actual modes on most bikes, Off, Eco, Trail, and Boost. If you want the workout then ride in Eco and Boost up those trials you could rarely clear on a regular bike. I look at this E vs. Analogue thing very differently. If I'm riding on a day when my legs are torched post analogue ride, then isn't the ride considered a bonus? Also, if I'm riding 30+ miles vs 9 then I consider it a great workout. Summary, Love both types of rides and for different reasons.

Mike, I can remember years ago when on the way to Sea Otter you got some tats in Oregon or somewhere along the way. Think you had got branded.... I see things have progressed a bit since then. Good on ya. I also like the dress code. It's like you hopped off your ride and decided to attend a show.

Possibly the biggest flop is the look and style of the onboard shifter and display. How flopping ugly.

Good point, but I do disagree. We have a group of Levo riders that gains access to the trails by riding up some steep and steady stuff so we can connect with the trail system here. Yes, we could take the diesel truck and drop off the bikes, but that's another argument. Truth be told, I love both styles of riding, and consider them a different sports. I take plenty of the ride in eco, or tune the Levo down to 20% power which is all but the same as pedaling my Yeti. The difference now is that in the lovely area of the Santa Cruz mountains I ride 3-4 times per week vs. 2 rides, and am in the best shape of my life. We are respectful, non idiot E riders, who take the time to keep the trails clean, support our local biking community, and look forward to the next ride. Oh, the doctors note thing. Yes, I am one of those doctor notes guy who got back into riding with my E-bike that allowed me to recover from a screwed up back. Now I'm back on both and am loving it. btw, I'm 56.

The biggest issue with YT, Commencal, Canyon etc., is resale. Not that you bike a bike for resale, but I would argue the savings gained by these brands is lost in the resale of the bike should you rotate the crops on a regular basis. In my case, I bought a used SB 130, brother bought SB 150. Both bikes are better than the comparable mail order brands IMHO but saving a grand or two meets the resale market and the difference may are minimal. Granted, you have to pay up front for these rigs. Why not just buy a used SB 150 over this YT. A better designed bike that may actually hold some value at the end of the day. Imagine trying to sell a used Capra vs. the SB 150 in this market.

Hmmm, missing the real message here. Long term forecast is for luxury goods to take a huge hit in 2023. And 5-10k bikes are just that, luxury goods.. not to mention 15k top end bikes. The industry got hit hard with lag times in production only to end up with massive bits of inventory thinking it would last forever. Look at SRAM axs gx for $390 in some stores, and the fact that the Levo was 25% off this past few weeks. This thing is going to hit hard and no-one seems to get it. You cut the fluff anticipating some rough times ahead. Thoughts??
