Bosch Launches Firmware Update for Existing Motors - More Torque, Higher Assistance
Ok can someone please answer me this, because I feel like Bosch have some serious explaining to do: Since they released this gen 5 motor they have now increased the torque output by 40% purely by software changes, from 85nm to 120nm. Does anyone else find this pretty suspect? I feel like a company that releases a cutting edge, brand new motor system should release it in a state where it functions to the maximum of its capabilities straight out the box, rather than having 40% (or more) of its capabilities locked behind software?! With my conspiracy theorists cap on, I can't help but think that obviously Bosch will have stress tested this motor during development and know exactly how much output it can safely and sustainably handle over long periods of use, so for them to then bump up the output figures like this means its operating much closer to this upper limit than before, which surely means the lifespan of the motor is going to suffer. But do they care? These motors will probably make it past the 2 year mark, then they're out of warranty, Bosch can wash their hands of any responsibility whilst still enjoying chasing their competitors in the Ebike motor arms race.

Stanchion Speculation - What's Going on Inside the New Boxxer?
Phew, I thought I was going to have to replace the slightly scratched stanchions on my forks, but now it looks like I've actually been an early adopter of this new technology 🤣

Deviate Cycles Enters the eMTB Game with The Kurgan
@90sMTBEnjoyer: I had a chance to ride a friend's GLP after having spent a few rides on a traditional ebike, and the difference is incredible!

Deviate Cycles Enters the eMTB Game with The Kurgan
Fingers crossed they've got a Pinion MGU version in the works too, and all that space above the motor could sport a custom battery which keeps the weight directly over the BB, like the Lapierre GLP, rather than the traditional tube shape. Plus gearbox bikes are what Deviate was founded upon!

Conti Kryptotal Rear 29x2.4, Soft compound, DH casing

$20 GBP
USED Conti Kryptotal Rear tyre, 29x2.4, soft compound, DH casing. This has a small cut in the sidewall, as shown in the last picture, right where it meets the rim, which won't seal, so this tyre can't be set up tubeless anymore but it will run perfectly as tubed, and still has plenty of life left on the tread so would be a shame to throw it away, someone can still get lots of use out of it. Collection from Queens Hills (Norwich), or can post at buyers expense.

DT Swiss F1900 front rim (F572)

$30 GBP
Used DT Swiss F1900 front rim. 29", 28 hole, 30mm inner width, 35mm outer width. ERD: 602mm, tubeless. This has been used a couple of times at bike parks, hence the scratches, but the rim is true with no dents. Taken off an F1900 wheelset because I changed the rear rim and eventually changed the front to match. This rim is sold individually by DT Swiss as the F572 rim and retails for roughly £75. Comes with a packet of DT Swiss alloy ProLock squorx nipples. Collection from Queens Hills, or can post at buyers expense. Thanks for looking!
