also there's more variations with bmx, you can go ride street, skateparks, dj's and flatland all in one day and be equally skilled in all types of riding. i also think bmxer's have more of a passion for biking then people that do downhill, we ride everyday its pretty much a life style and when you cant ride due to injury or weather conditions it kills you because all you want to do is go ride down the street and have a good time, theres no comparison between bmx and downhill, bmx takes it all the way.
