Western Open Route at Kicking Horse Bike Park

Trail combo for the 2010 Western Open in late August. The cameraman is not a racer, just a guy trying to hang onto the handlebars.

Man that video is great. It shows just how much that friggin' place works both you and your bike like a rented mule. It's unfortunate that the camera never does justice to how steep those trails actually are. I agree with Nateb, I've also got arm pump just watching that! By the way, your trail crew has done an amazing amount of work the last couple seasons. Keep up the great work!

You're a great rider. Maybe not from a professional racer perspective, but a great rider nonetheless.

Keep up the vids. (Minus the underconfidence).

Argh! The rider makes this course look way too easy.

I didn't say it was difficult, just that the rider makes it look easier than it is.

My arms pumped up just watching it. Sweet course. So does it start where this video started, or at the top of the pioneer chair?

It ends to rider's right of the video's ending. It actually finished between the gondola and chairlift.

right where the video starts. just after the bottom of Blaster.
  • + 1
 How come no upper section?
  • + 1
it starts at the top of Pioneer and is already a 4 minute + run. Blaster and higher was left out due to concerns of all the wood features if it rained.

The video doesn't start at the top of the Pioneer chair, like the old race course did, that's the section I'm wondering about.

 nice riding..lot of work,

Let go of the brakes - nice vido though

That's a World Cup technical course. You let go of the brakes and you're hitting a tree head on
