guys is it bad to bottom out ur fork
  • + 2
no, bottoming out your fork is normal, it means your using full travel
  • + 5
 no your wrong
  • + 2
my fork is set up to bottom out multiple times on a run, but i never feel the bottom out because of the forks set up. This allows me to use full travel without damaging the fork

john knows his shit so fuck off people

If your fork is set up properly you will use all the travel without a bottom out!
Using full travel and bottoming out your fork are different.
Full travel means you have great compression damping that allows you to use all 190-200mm without ever feeling you used that much.
Bottom-out is a big clank!!!!!!!!!
YOU feel it in your arms and think, OH sh-T what did I break!

Bottom out = BAD
Full travel = Smooth and awesome!

RidEOn!

well i constantly use full travel, but have never felt a big harsh bottom out
  • + 2
Yes, good set up! The perfect blend of compression and rebound will give you a nice plush full travel and very any harsh bottom outs or spikes through the travel! RidEOn!

Bottoming out is just a matter of common sense, if it clanks, its reached the end of the travel, and its now smashing the shit out of your internals when it hits. Obviously bad for it.

Yes, so a good set up is to get full travel with out the clank. RidEOn!
