A little bit lucky on 04 Dec 2011
First run and I didn't know if there were any trees fallen down. Close call right at the end of the video.
Riding the 2011 Transition BottleRocket with the single speed set-up and the RC2DH compression damper upgrade in the Lyrik fork.

We don't ride hard tails here too often only because it's more fun with a full suspension bike. Lot's of people do and there are lots of trails for XC. But like most areas around here, there are sections where you really don't want a hard tail - It's just so much more fun bombing it down the trails on a fully expecially when someone can shuttle you back up the mountain.
Rough, yes and no, you pick your trails to suit your riding style and equipment. The trails are typically sheer magic. But there were high winds and a lot of rain a few days bofore this ride so there was a lot of windfall/branches and trees across the trails so the first runs down each trail had to be done cautiously with lots of stopping to clear the trails. When the trails are wet and the leaves are on them, some of the sections get pretty darn greasy.
There's also lots of woooden build sections that get skipped over as well when there's been a long rain spell - just a little too slippery on the wood with the leaves for our liking - but those sections are sooo nice when dry.

oh great - now I'll have to pay you royalties for all the money we make on the video.
0% of $0 - I can afford that.
Kind of neat to discover yourself on a random video - eh?
