ya see I just bought a ski-kit for my downhill bike. Ive only taken it out once bofore and it was terrifiying!!!. only because I wasnt on a groomed run like you have. Hopefully I can get it up to the one resort in my state that allows ski-bikes soon.

 It's still scary. O_O

Skis are mounted using heli coils inserts, with a screw going through the bottom piece of aluminum into the insert. Four screws per ski. Stopping is similar to a snowboard or skis: go into a hard carve to the left or right.

does the bike feel weird considering its quite a few inches shorter vertically than a normal bike?
I'm building one and debating how much rise i want between skiis and axel

I have 8" between the skis and the axle. It feels pretty stable, especially with the wider skis.

Oh My Sick! I'm moving up Fairbanks in about a month, how do you think a hard-tail snow bike would do?

Dunno until you try it! Let me know how it goes!

@ danno86 Hi man, I ride with the ski bike crew, I turned my Kona scrap into a ski bike, The hard tail works fine untill you get going super fast. With out the rear travel you start bouncing, then you get once good bounce that makes you catch your front ski edge. Then its a fun tumble down the mountain!
