Wednesday Morning Ride

First video with the GoPro. Feedback is welcome, I shot it this morning, and then just threw some clips together to make it tonight. I know it's not much, but I also don't have much for software. cheers

Looks good ,but I think it needs to be pointed up a little more!

Is that the wide angle GoPro?

That being said, it was better at speed re: angle ...

Ok, I agree. Thanks for the tip. I believe it is, its a HD hero 2.

I think I'll work on just going faster!!! I'll leave it at this angle for the next ride that will most assuredly be a faster descent on a steeper trail.

Quality looks great - minimal shake. That mount location is a good one.

Thanks, I want the handlebar and chest mounts too. It's pretty interesting to see the footage, It looks awkwardly slow at times.

Never really shows the scale of the terrain either, does it?
  • + 2
No, I hope that I can aid in that a little with bringing the angle up, and possibly a seatpost mount. but my assumption is that it won't ever show how steep that first little climb was...

Early morning or late afternoon work great for that reason. I find shadows help a lot to show relief.

It's nice being able to ride to the trails too, isn't it?

The angle wasn't too bad. I think it was just that you were climbing for the first little bit and had the head down climbing like a champ.. I always found the bar mount to shake too much. Head mounts or chest mount with armour/modification were the steadiest followed by frame mount, then bar mount. Chest and helmet give the best idea of speed. You can never really get a good idea of how steep things are I have found.

Have fun with this thing. I've taken mine white water rafting (kayaking would be cool for you), tubing, skiing, biking (obviously), boating, quading, and swimming. I've even placed it on a fishing net so you get a cool view of scooping up the fish when you go to net it. Wish I would have had it on when I was hang gliding though.

I definitely plan to have it on for a kayaking race or two this summer. Your'e probably right, I just need to man up, and keep my head up. I'm excited to see the other descents in the area.

Head down climbing is just fine. Just meant that's why the angle looked off. Having it on video for those races will be pretty cool but doing burst mode and taking shots is pretty sweet too. I've had some great shots in the water using that feature. Had a good sequence tubing in the rapids when I went under for quite some time. Had it in burst mode and was using the chest mount.

Chris always seem to get some cool pics with burst mode ...

Yep, he does. here is usually 1 out of the bunch that turns out well.

 I dig it.

thanks, I'll add in music to the next one, and try to be smoother with the cuts, I'm not sure how I feel about transitions as they take time, and I already feel like this is too long. but eh, what do I know.

I bet that you know lots of things.
  • + 1
I know some things, however in this arena... I don't know a thing.

Dont use fancy transitions in a GoPro edit. Just let people know what you rode from your point of view. No need for frills.

My thoughts. If I make a longer edit, I may do transitions. But for now, just clips.
