 I much prefer going up hill by pedaling than any other way. There is a sense of accomplishment after conquering a brutal climb.

also why anyone would pedal uphill willingly?

 The answer to the first question is, marketing. The second is because you can, and getting to the top feels just as good as getting to the bottom.
