SEEONEE PARK XC
Headed out to Seeonee Park for the 1st time for a XC fix with Dave.He was kind enough to go slow for me to show me around this awesome trail. The Trance was great,a bit heavy maybe but so am I anyway. Its not what i expected a XC trail to be,it was more of a All Mountain kind of trail.I didnt do all the climbs but the down sections are super fun.....need fitness.

Love the XC trails bro....yes, it's hard to keep fitness levels up, but fuck it !!! We are happy just to be biking as we all get older, with so many other comittments....all my mates in the bike shop are just pleased for me to still be out riding. They emphasize....FUN, so when i'm out now, I just go out to enjoy....

You are indeed very lucky to have that type of riding so close to your home, i am so envious of that terrain. Not all those creepy crawlies that may be lurking in the bushes though. Spiders do not do it for me lol, snakes and lizards i like..

On tuesday we went out to this trail for a early morning spin...spiders were everywhere hanging in there webs...i was 2nd rider so i didnt get too many. But i am fine with them.Snakes scare the crap out of me....they can kill you here lol.But yes we are lucky. The XC loop was made some years ago (5) to hold a state round of XC.It has been well looked after and rides so well....i am so addicted to it now.It has great climbs and the fast sections that point down are out of this world.

good training ride bro you're still a gun !!!...take a look at that Salsa Horsethief, it should feel right at home on that trail !!!...

Yeah love the Salsa bro...I know a Salsa seat clamp is about the same price as my Bike so i would hate to guess the price of that bike.Mate i am a long way off and missed most of the climbs but it was better than watching vids on here all day,i just had to get out for a ride.More ride riding today and will do some climbing practice too in the trails in the back yard.....yep,i am a gun bro...a pop gun lol

nahhh, I think you're being too hard on yourself, every climbs is a killer when a bit out of shape...you did great bro and you could not be dropped...way to represent !!!...btw, the Salsa is very affordable here, just can't compare with Oz pricing...they have great prices on bikes and many riders from New Zealand are getting their frames from Phat Moose and then get them shipped...you will save the 8% tax and the frame is almost half price !!!

Well i think Phat Moose is my new LBS ......Our pricing is just stupid. The mark up from the factory to here must be huge.Giant ship straight from Taiwan (i think) so the bang for the buck is always there.
Still some work to do mate.My heart was saying "lets give this trail a flogging" but the legs were saying "hey Fat boy, lets get out of here and have a Meat pie " lol....the good thing is that i cant get any worse than that. The bike is good so its all about fitness...motivation as you would know M is pumping so no probs there either.

you're a machine, bro...I know motivation is not a problem of yours !!!...but I don't want you to get tooo much in shape, f*ck, I'll never be able to follow you, lol...as long as it goes down, I'll be ok...Phat Moose is anxious to take care of your need bros and I'll make sure that you get the very best price from them,,,remember, retail is for suckers !!!...the price will be good enough that you should be able to resell it without losing a cent...have you seen the Intense that will be shipped to NZ ???

no mate, didnt see it...this shipping would cost a lot wouldnt it?
Mate as hard as i try i will never be in shape lol

Hey now you know the track I can ride my normal pace through section and just wait for you ever now and then.
Hey don't worry there a lot of guys that are faster then me around this track.
I love this trail a lot, as it has heaps of climbing, tight technical and fun descents.
I take the bad with the good but I have improved my time by 14mins around this track when I first started.

Yeah man sounds good. Our friends left at about 5pm so i grabbed the bike and rode up the fire trail from Bloxsom st (the end of the fire trail where the big puddle always is).....i am practicing climbing. It took 4 go's but i made it all the way eventually lol......The best part is the down sections for sure...so fast and have great flow.the climbs are killers but very do-able and there are some real tech bits but not too many which is good for a fatiqued rider.
Do you know anyone with a Mr Average 29er Dave? I wanna try one that is more in my price range.
Oh i got bucked off pretty hard just then coming down the rocky section.Ove r the bars and into the bush, smashed my light and a spoke hahahaha...love it....dont forget to text me when the bike is yours , i will come and have a look......

You really can't beat a good old XC blast, it's what most of us do all the time but are afraid to say that word CROSS COUNTRY. I love the colour of the dirt there, we in the UK are experiencing dusty trails at present.

Agreed,XC does not have the same feeling as Trail riding...still the same though and i really am enjoying the XC thing.Mate we had a few inches of rain 3 days before and no sun to dry it up.I live 8km away from this place and have trails in my yard and they are so dusty and rocky.I have never been on anything but and this soil was a welcome surprise....you cant help but stick to it.

Hey buddy, great video. I'm keen to ride it every week with you get your fitness back. And yes it was the slowest I've ever been around that track but I still loved seeing you out there riding.

Yeah it may take some time to get fit again but i have to start somewhere. The trail offers some tech stuff and as much as i hate to admit it i loved the climbing and the challenges it provides.Next time just ride your normal pace and i will eventually keep up ...Just so hard trying to find the time to ride mid-week.Riding to work and back each day is not the same but it is something.
My bike is fine and i have been riding long enough now to know where to steer the bike so its just fitness....is there a app for fitness i can buy hahahahahaha

Nice ride with a cool soundtrack! But I still don't miss my xc days; it's just too much for me! But you look like you're doing fine.

1st time on this XC loop and loved it Manny, bit tougher than DH (not that i go real fast DH either) but the gear choice and when to drop the seat and when to coserve energy was very important...Like Chess on a MTB lol.....any sound track with a Beastie Boys instrumental is gonna rock mate....thanks for watching
