I run renthals but they're perfect, his arms seem to be having to reach a very long distance

Eh that may be a little wide but chances are you're gonna get taller in the next year or two anyway so if you plan on keeping your demo I'd just leave them. Wider bars are definitely better. I went from 750s to 780s and there was a noticeable difference. My friend Dan rides 800s.
