All I was thinking is how packs that size would ruin any ride anywhere.

Bit old for that. Marching is one thing, cycling for enjoyment with a pack that size and as loose as those is quite another.

Pack a bergen right and secure it propperly and it really shouldn't be a problem unless your really trying to push it hard on the ups but again its all to do with how you pack it and the use of both chest and shoulder straps correctly.

Nah mate it would not be fun, doable of course but there'd be no jumping or nimbleness on the trail just getting from a to b,it'd be a chore IMO.

If you take note of a few of the clips, they were doing a multi-day mission, carrying the camping gear in the big packs and just riding out from their campsites with lighter packs. Most of the riding in the Chilcotins is more about exploring the vast area out there than trying to rip a trail at race pace.

So privileged to have this in our backyard and free to roam at our own free will.

That was such a wonderful video.
I applaud those riders for carrying that much gear on a long trip! One time I took a backpack full of camping gear just to go across to the island to camp and ride my bike. I didn't ride that far of a distance with my gear and it was extremely uncomfortable.
I've always wanted to go on an epically long mountain bike tour style trip, but never knew what to do about transporting gear. If anyone has ideas or have done this, please post.

Lots of people do tours around some of the alps mountains, I won't try and name them for sake of butchering the names. They don't need much gear because if you do it in sections, there are small inns along the way.

Gotta just go as little as possible. Im a big fan of hammocks (if its warm), dont need a tent or pad then. You can get really light and little ones (Eno makes boss ones). Found this cool website too....

Great video, gives a good view of what is available to ride in Canada. However there are some amazing rides in the states too. Appalachian mountain range and some big rides in Montana. We are all lucky to live where we can roam free like this. You just have to go out and do it if its what you want to do. Just remember being fit is a key to making it enjoyable.

there is no way i could carry all that gear on a bike .after watching videos with people with big back packs
and seeing people on the trails where i ride with bags that look like they are going to burst open i decided to travel light so i went tubeless got the small bag for under the saddel + multi tool +water bottle in cage that's it and its great .

Need a little more when you are on a multi day trip with nothing more then what the 4 of us could carry. Now keep in mind Connor and Margus had to carry all the camera gear... batteries, tripods, flashes, lens.... sleeping bags food for 4 people who are riding hard and long for a few days, second kit of clothing as we were shooting stills as well.... we ran out of food with about 7 hours till we were at the truck Where we had food and drinks!

i dont get it? hasnt inspired me to go out and ride sorry. beautiful country and an amazing place to ride but the video seemed pointless as a mountain biking video. great showcase for the scenery but where was the emphasis on the actual enjoyment of the ride, the energy and spirit involved in riding? you could have just put hiking boots on and filmed people walking as it would have had the same effect.
