This fork's inners are fundamentally the same concept as a Boxxer R2C2 damper... a shim stack with a spring preload on compression and rebound. The chassis is inverted, which gives a larger overlap on the bushings, which could translate into lower friction, but whether this is offset by the increase in flexibility causing bushing misalignment under torsional loads remains to be seen.
I'm not convinced that there is much to be gained in tweaking the geometry of the flow ports. I am fairly convinced that the biggest difference in any set of forks comes from the smoothness of the forks w.r.t. slider friction. Following that (and assuming LSC/LSR is at a reasonable speed), correct application of a compression shim stack, and then a rebound stack.
I really look forward to it's release. If it is good, I shall buy one... but I'll be testing it first. After all this hype, and the price rumours (1800 in Europe??), it had better be spectacular.
