October at Bonaly

Bonaly in October roughly a month since my last edit I wanted to capture a few other parts of Bonaly to show the contrast between the upper fast flowing trails and the much more technical lower sections. Chilled edit that I hope you enjoy!

Hey man I noticed you have shot most of your vids on a d5200 which is the same camera that I have just bought! What sort of settings do you use on the videos as I am struggling a wee bit with how to get the sort of film look you have on yours. Cheers.

Hi, I think with this edit a lot of it came down to lucky natural lighting but in terms of settings to get cinematic motion - 1080p 24fps with 1/50th shutter speed and generally the lowest aperture number the whole time since it is generally pretty dark in Scotland. With high speed sports you might want to use a slightly higher shutter speed to reduce excessive blur but 1/50 is the recommend for 24/25fps and 1/60 for 30fps - the 24 or 25fps will give you the cinematic look. As far as I remember there isn't any post colouring on this so its just the standard built-in colour preset.

The last three videos including Dusty Days were shot almost entirely with a Tokina 11-16mm 2.8 for the wide shots and Nikon 40mm 2.8 for the tight shots.
