Shooting Selfies on a Sunny Day at SST

Despite nearly deleting my footage......twice.....I managed to put this together.

Hahaha...they're flying by every couple/few minutes, so I'd film one if it came by when I was setting up/breaking down shots. Filmed a bunch at the end after filming the last line...I was too spent to ride out of there for 1/2 hour!!

As far as how long it took, it was a solid four hours. I had planned on going riding with a friend the next day, but I had nothing in the tank so I stayed home instead.

I actually thought the plane at the start and at the end were part of the script, I actually didn't watch it to the end until the second time round, whats with all the planes at the end.

Too right mate, took me 40min. to push back to the top, fortunately most of the filming was done in the middle section.

Great trail nice and fast, selfies are a lot of hard work , good edit too.

Thanks! It's even tougher during winter months here when the sun stays fairly low all day. Most of the clips were super-exposed, but I spent ample time with color/brightness adjustments to make it tolerable. I also experimented with a different editing technique which, to me, has a better overall flow in the finished product.

In case you or anybody else is wondering WTF is up with the planes, these trails are just south of Seatac Airport - can't get too much more of a unique place to shred. I had to edit massive amounts of audio from the riding part because of all the jet noise.

How long did it take to shoot that, I did a selfie a place called Clear Mountain, took all day, totally knackered by the end, problem is you have to ride a bit past the camera to get the shot then bolt back reposition then do it again, good fun though

I can only imagine what the couple of dog walkers were thinking when they stumbled upon me out there that day! I'm lucky these trails aren't that steep and you can pedal back up most of the time.

I watched your helmet cam footy from Clear Mountain - that would be a nightmare (first-world problems) to self-edit because it's much steeper and it appears there's lots of trail to cover.
