If you'd have pulled off that transfer on the berm at 00:08 that would be hands down the sickest thing bru!!

Next time we're there will be chaos. Im expecting some sick ass transfer to huck on the down ramp.

ha --- rrrrrright.
back during the 24 Hours of Canaan and Snowshoe races, hosted by Granny Gear Productions, I remember I cramped up super bad twice during the two races. it was during my 2nd or 3rd laps.. ... I don't remember which laps it was but both times it was as I was nearing the top of the mountain. pretty sure is was when I was on a 4-man team so time spent in recovery mode was kinda short compared to the "open class" teams which had at least one girl but 5 people.
I typically had a great first lap, maybe only about 5,6 7 minutes off the pro level times, second laps were good if they were night laps cause they were typically at cooler temps. And I can't explain it, i always had better night lap times than during the day --- I think it was because I couldn't see some of the dangerous stuff so I would just hammer through, not knowing the envelope I was pushing was wide open.

Snowshoe and Canaan had two ridiculously steep climbs -
Canaan had this last climb before reaching the top that was called "The Wall" and yes, it looked like a wall as you made that left hand turn onto what was basically, one of the steepest ski slopes during the ski season..... and it had this long and very slight curve to it so just as you thought you were almost at the top, it would sucka punch and you'd have more climbing to go. Tons of people would stop at the very top before making their way down so they could re-coop. ... During one climb, I literally fell over like you did at the end of your video because both legs cramped up at the same time and I just couldn't pedal. I was like a stuck turtle ... I couldn't do anything for at least 10, 15 minutes. .. I could hardly even walk.
Then during another race at Canaan or Snowshoe (can't remember which), I made it to the top ok, without cramping up but I remember that I knew I was pushing the limits cause my legs were twitching like they were real close to cramp mode. Instead of taking a short break at the top, I chugged through and THEN I started to cramp up on my way down through some of the nasty rock garden. I recall even my forearms were cramping too. I had to stop cause I just couldn't control my bike at that point.
those were some fun races for sure --

Dude, the good old days seem fun! I was ripping the streets on my full suspension, dual crown, Raleigh!

That said, +1 to whoever read all that! And for you, drink some water, or how you say it, warter... It stops the cramps... Also, put some salt into your drink or 'warter' and that should help. PS, i dont charge for healthcare..

laps times we often had were around 1:15, 1:20... I recall Aaron R and Dave B used to crush our times, rolling in sometimes under an hour, which was only minutes behind the Pro's. when we had 4 man teams, you can do the math on how much time you'd have to recover... not very long .. we eventually broke and entered these races as with the "open class" teams which required at least one woman. You'd basically do less laps per race but, you'd at least have a little more team to recover between laps (unless you mixed up the rotation differently). Ha ha ha.. then nut job Stamsted (sp?).. he was one of the few people who did those races solo. frikin guy did like 18 or 19 laps one year and our whole team was only able to do I think 13 or 14.

nah i said i had a british cycling event and work your just using that because you thought I'd beat you and your using it so it makes you look like the better rider
- - 1
The funny thing is, as i re-watch my footage and wonder where you 'allegedly' could be faster, i think to myself, fuck i'm slow... In my head i could do much better and i feel its the same for you. I really dont think you cant beat my time... Just saying.

Buddy, Wahoo. My school life... Well, if you look like a 12 year old, i'd think you also self-deprecate.

Unfortunately not buddy. I dont even completely understand where their could be a massive double. If you're talking about where the AstonHill Crew is, then thats just the walking path to get back up again.

ok... pause it at 29 seconds... whats that to the left of the track that looks sort of like a take off?
- + 1
Scotj009, You obviously haven't been up to aston in a while, thats just a big pile of dirt they buy in to touch up the tracks when they are wearing thin. There is literally no way they would build a double that big, people would kill themselves...
- + 1
yeah i havent been up since begining of feb when the had nearlly finished the first section of the start
... yeah i thought it wasn't possible just an insanely stupid idea
- + 1
He's pretty sick Scotj009, No matter what bike you ride he would whip it in circles round you.. #Banter
- + 1
yeah i know it's all banter... he'd likely loose me straight after the first section of surface to air
... never mind root cannel
- + 2
looking good dude! new top section looks great, definitely gonna be making a trip down there soon!
- + 1
The new top section looks sweeet! apart from those 2 berms though.. they look a little awkward.. I see loads of people taking off that roller like you did xD
- - 2
Definitely a bit awkward. I think thats partly to do with how slick it is. Once it gets packed in over time. I think its gonna be hella fun.

I rode it today, It is actually a very good transition, will hold so much speed once the shitty gravel is packed in. Sliding all over the place!
- + 2
Looking pretty rapid man. Trail looks great fun as well, I'll defiantly have to get up there soon.
- - 1
I'll give you a tour. After my GCSE's let me know when you're up there. Dont be shy. I understand that you called me a Cunt and said, i'm slow, not deserving of my bike however let that stay in the past... Hahaha, Banter.

A combo of adequate upper body stability/strength (if you don't have it already) + Hip Flexion will turn you into a WC racer!
- - 1
YesZzir!! Lost all my strength as i was injured for 2 months...
Just need to become a bit more confident with the track and bike and soon enough, i hope to be railing the corners! Thanks for the advice buddy! Cheers

Thanks man. Physio 3 times a week for a month killed me. Only worked on arm/elbow strength as i broke both of them. Gym almost everyday from this point out.
- + 0
Yeah buddy. Gonna try to ride it out next time i'm there. Look like all the gravel has cleared so it shouldn't be as slick.
