no kidding, love the shoes... don't give one hoot they aren't "bike" shoes or what they look like.. they have amazing traction... I can walk on ice with them and not slip. they are also super comfortable, sorta cheap and most of all, slip on --- hate laced shoes when it comes to shoes in general.

places I like to ride can get very slick and you often have to ditch and or hike-a-bike
--- years ago, I had a really nice pair of Lake shoes which has great traction for when you're not ON the bike --- i burned those out and never found anything with good traction since..
I had had a few bike shoes that were pretty good as shoes but, the one common thing about them. none of them are all that great when it comes to the slippery rocks and roots. there's been a boat load of times I have slipped and fallen because of those dang shoes not having good grip.
Those SFC's have got a slip-factor that can't be beat. seriously, absolutely amazing how well they grip. I have never had slip issues with them. if only they made them with a SPD feature. I use them all the time, for grooming and riding.
just saying, for rocky stuff like this unknown location, bigger is better. I know this trail system like the back of my 4.5 finger'd hand. Heck, I built 95% of the rocky stuff. Every time you see me pause in this video or the little snippet of my leg, it's because I got jammed up in divots or roots.
Not saying I have zero problems rolling this same stuff on the 27.5 wheels but, it's really rare I get jammed up on them. Just the other day, I rolled some of the same stuff here on a fully rigid 29er with slightly larger tires (29x2.35). Sure, it was rough because I didn't have suspension but, I didn't get jammed up but maybe only a couple times at the most.
If you're on the fence about your next bike.... and you like riding rocky stuff like what you see here.. ask me, don't buy a 26" just because it's on sale. good chance it's on sale because they're not selling nearly as well as 27.5's are. 26" and "they" just want to get rid of it..
26" isn't going away but, the good options are. (IMO) as time goes on, it'll be harder and harder to find quality 26" products. I'm seeing that already --- looking at the 26" vs 27.5" products available at my wholesale sources, there's a boat load of solid 27.5" out there... looking at 26", not so much. far less options.
I don't H8 26" but, for me... now way my first choice these days..
