I've been looking at this bike for a friend, as an entry-level / first mountain bike. Video looks good (although would love to know if the bike survived that jump!) Would you recommend it?

I would say its a great entry level / first mountain bike.
They are inexpensive with a solid build and can take A SOLID beating.
Yes the bike and myself survived the jump! I would definitely recommend the bike.
