PB has a view count and a fave count. Why not use these stats to let PB users select VOD? Yeah this vid is ok but it's not particularly exciting, interesting or different in any way- as shown by the number of faves. Currently both VOD and POD are based solely on the opinion of a few people that are deeply embedded within the hugely cliquey bike industry.

I went to several bike shops to get a job, and it came with pretty disasterous results. I don't know if it's "cliquey" or what, but I liked this video.

I think one of the big ideas of having VOD's is to show us interesting content that we sometimes wouldn't normally see. The big edits with hundreds of faves still get VOD's, but it can be nice to see some of the other sides of the bike film industry and give smaller filmmakers some exposure if their work is good rather than see nothing but the big names like the coastal crew, anthill films, etc. In general I don't think every VOD should be the most faved videos. If we want that we can just go to the "top this month" category.

@skarsy: I wasn't suggesting that vids with the highest view count should get VOD- that's only an indication of how well marketed a bike film has been. I think they should divide the views by the number of faves to give a 'hit rate' as such. With such a wide audience on PB these days it makes sense to use their feedback more and build them into the site. We had the entire 4 part series of this each as VOD- probably a combined fave count of less than 100. PB just isn't close to what it used to be.

@skarsy: Also if VOD was meant to show you things you may not have already seen then why do they choose films as VOD after putting them on the top of the Global homepage, Movies for you Monday, posting it on their instagram feed etc? 9/10 films I have seen before they have been made VOD.

Great videography, shit soundtrack, so I only watched a minute or so. If I have to turn the sound off... thats it. Looks like a great race though beautiful trails, the rain looks nice.
