The Tuesday Tune 16 - Bump Compliance and Harshness

Speak of the devil, I just finalized my DB Inline Air volume reducer count. I was on the phone with Cane Creek this morning asking them what I might feel going from a lower can volume to higher. They gave me some general guidelines, but I think I have the definitive answer- your (shock) will get harsh because of the increased HSC necessary to keep the bike in the normal range of travel.
Had to go in a full turn of HSC to compensate for the loss of only one small row of spacers! Guess I was close. What should have made a super plush ride was stupid harsh.
And I wouldn't have known that increasing the HSC would effectively bring the high speed circuit in sooner without the Tuesday Tune!!
You the Man!

A great take away from this one is the idea that a more progressive set up can actually be harsher due to slamming into the last half of travel sooner than a more linear tune. And that last half (HSC) needs to be stiffer to compensate.
Fantastic, as always.
