Trail Building - Log Ride

Basically yeah. The whole root structure came down last winter. I had to move the whole log with a come a log tool. Did that to move away from a tree partway down and to get a better footing for the whole log. Once it was in place I just smashed the dirt away with a mattock and then got rid of the roots slowly using some of the natural log to aid in support for the ramp. Then leveled the top off to flow better into the ride portion of the log. Good luck!

thanks for the insight! I'm lucky that this one landed in pretty much a perfect position. only 30 or so feet that I have to give the log a flatter surface area to ride on.

what did you do for the root portion? just go at it with a mattock and them saw the roots after the dirt was gone? I have a similar one I want to build but I was unsure what the best way to deal with that was.
