Fat Caad at Blue

Me and the Fatty have gotten acquainted and like each others company, so I brought her over to Blue, to test her agility, and she shined!

 Most excellent!
You have some awesome riding!
Plunging into that icy water, WOW lol hahahahah
Cool song too, setting a good vibe!
The lady tigers at the end have a good attitude, people here only complain to me about riding in the mountains!
RideOn man!

Thanks buddy, it's fun putting the videos together, but I wish I can edit the videos like you do, you have a great eye for it! I moved up to this area back in 2001 just because of the riding, our mountains are more like hills, but the terrain is pretty gnarly, good for DH trails, but short. The people up here are cool for the most part, as long as you ride at designated parks/areas. If you build illegal trails, which most of our DH trails are, then they complain. RideOn, no shame buddy!

Thank you for the compliments! But Im just a random monkey putting clips together! Every video is usually randomness! ahhahahhahah But I like your style too! We all are doing the same things but from a different perspective making if fun!
I think all around the world most people are riding on illegal trails, I do too! Shhhhhhhhh!
No shame at all! Big Grin RideOn Chuck!

Man! Super video, looks fantabulastic ... she really goes up and over, around, and down obstacles well. Great riding. How were the Maxxis feeling?

Thanks man!! It really is a comfortable bike to ride, the geometry is spot on, but still not digging the Maxxis Minions. Even though they're my favorite tire (I have minions on my DH, Enduro and Trail bike) they don't work as well on the fatty. I was apprehensive on all turns, where I had to lean the bike into the turn, front end kept giving, I don't bind it so much on the rear, but the front was meh. I've messed with pressures, so I think that will be my first upgrade.

@dirtyrig: I didn’t even wear my jumbo Jim’s in much before switching to the Surly Nate’s, the Jim’s are still on my old rims in the garage waiting to stick on my old fatty frame when I finish building her into a fixie. Nice lightweight speedy tire, but too thin and not enough knobbies for my taste off road. The Nate’s have definitely done the job for me.
The fatty will be a total rocket once you get a confident tire... it looked quick and agile as is. tup

I've been told to stick with tricycles but come spring fatty is on my list.

Hmmm... but tricycles are so cool. They have 2 wheels..... +1, you have one extra wheel! I would rock one with a frog horn, personal preference of course.

@dirtyrig: My granddad gave me an 86 Honda big red 250 that I ride in northern Ontario all year so I have an addiction for fat tires already. Takes some getting used to and they may not be better than 4 but just as much fun .I take good care of it so my friends tend to tease. We have more dense pine ,spruce needles that slow a narrow tire down, if you go off the beaten track. I think a fat bike will do well up here.

@leftofcentre: You have a great granddad! I raced MX from 15 yrs old and could never ride a trike without having the rear wheels ride up the back of my legs! lol No matter how much I try to remember to start with my feet up, I always forget and Bam!

hry man thanks and I’m so stoked you like the vids. How does the caad ride? Looks so nimble yet beastly I’m so impressed with the way you control it. Can’t work out if that’s due to your natural skill or maybe I’m underestimating fat bikes. I want to know all about it mate and if you could ever make it your go everywhere rig.

@samjam: Thanks bro, yes the Fatty has been a lot of fun to ride. A little bit of adjusting in the beginning, but once you get used to some of the strange things its great to ride and yes it helps a lot, especially through very technical sections, it just swallows everything. Its also a lot more nimble and faster than I thought it would be. It can definitely be a one bike does all quiver killer, but that all depends what you want out of riding. For me, it will not replace my full suspension and definitely not my DH bike, but its a lot of fun to ride and I feel like its making me a stronger rider. I'm doing things that I normally wouldn't have on a full suspension bike and that's very cool. Riding a hard tail corrects many things you may get lazy about on a full suspension bike like jumping.
