You were talking smack there jc1015. You were not listening to your elders so stop typing and start reading. Cole Carter may be a cocky bastard but he is most certainly not lying. Now as you are not familiar with the area, unless its the middle of a really hot summer and has not rained in weeks. (which very rarely happens) now as I do live here and have ridden on these mountain a lot I know that the roots will stay very wet and slippery long after the rain stops falling because the roots are under loam. Now if you want to try to find something similar find a corner in your forest make sure it is very rooty then cover those roots with dirt just like a half inch above the tops of the roots. Now water this section for at least six hours wait a couple days and try to rip through that corner with any speed. And as for slick rock and rock gardens they are all over the shore I can name tons of trails that are essentially rock gardens in between slick steep rocks and roots. Also when your riding in downpours it washes a lot of the slimy stuff off rocks especially in the common routes and the rocks will usually offer good grip. I could go into more detail but you get the point. So think before you unleash the fury on your keyboard! The citizens of PB are lucking you didn't pull out the CAPS and really hurt someone.

Your really should learn to absorb all the bumps on a hardtail first, it will make you a better rider in the long run. You should not always be depending on suspension to be doing the work for you. And the difference between this video and that of the two in red, they are on a more technical track, and going faster.

I didnt get that last bit... and yeh i could do the bumps on my HT, it just got to a point where i couldnt compress my legs fast enough to keep going at top speed. And also I am fairly short so i really appreciate the suspension as it frees up more room to move my legs because i do not have to worry as much about bumps.

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you, but it's true, the other guys were going faster, on a more technical trail. The video you have here shows no roots, and it certainly does not look very wet. If you are really wondering I have ridden more technical trails in downpours, and quite enjoyed myself.

they are pros, and cole is stretching it a bit comparing it to that trail lol. The vid has bad angles to see the roots, There were sections on that trail that had roots all over. and it wasnt SUPER wet dirt, the roots were slick as hell though. And cole dont get mad, remember that was the section of the trail that was so so, above that was the super super fun part (in my mind) and below was way better to.- + 1

It's actually more fun to ride in the rain than in the dry, once you get over the initial fact of getting dirty. It's the most fun when your tires barely hold traction on the straight dirt.

Sorry, but I have to say from everything I have seen on the forum makes me believe you have no idea. I have never lived on the north shore, as some people are not that fortunate in life, But I do have a very technical local hill consisting of rock and roots with dirt in the cracks and crevices. Try riding nothing but slick rock gardens for a full day, very amusing but also extremely difficult, much more so than the trail portrayed in the above video.
