 Thnx guys Big Grin Yeah the carpet is to protect the lips and keep them moist we dont really have a problem with the carpet slowing them down sometimes there still to fast with carpet.

 whats the point of having the mats on the jumps? is it to keep the lip?

 yes, also provides a softer landing if you case the jump. one of the downsides is that you can lose a lot of speed using them.
