yea I think i was recording at night so i didn't have the volume up too loud. Tube amps get good distortion at high volumes opposed to solid state amps which produce a more balanced distortion through their volume range. So that might explain it, although it could've just been the EQ, I mess with the settings all the time so my tone isn't the same day by day.
