We are now proud to make it official: Cameron Cole is strengthening the Commencal Riding Addiction team for the 2014 season. We can already see some of you guys smiling, since Cam Cole’s last appearance in 2013 was last July at the Vallnord World Cup in Andorra. Cam had crashed very badly and had to be evacuated by helicopter. For 2014, the New Zealander will be joining the Riding Addiction team for which Commencal is the main sponsor.

Cameron Cole 2014

Everyone is surfing on this refreshing news, and we can’t contain our joy to welcome this new rider. Welcome to you Cam!

“I am really thankful for the support and effort Thibaut and Commencal have gone through to get the deal done with me for this year. It was a truly last minute thing and it's come together really well. I'm stoked to be able to have the opportunity to race for Riding Addiction. I think it's going to be a fun year with new faces and different challenges.” - Cam Cole

“For a couple of seasons we've wanted to give a more 'international' aspect to the team, and when Cam approached me a few weeks ago he was definitely the rider who could perfectly fit in what we were looking for. He's a great guy with incredible riding skills, we couldn't expect for a better rider and team mate. It's going to be a really exciting season with a really strong line up in the team and we are all looking forward to get back racing and bring to all our riders the keys to achieve their goals. - Thibaut Ruffin, team manager, Commencal Riding Addiction

“I don’t know why, but I sense some riders more than others. Cam belongs to this category. Plus, his style will perfectly match the spirit of our bikes. We go big, and we aren’t here to waste our time. I’m very happy for Thibaut Ruffin as well. He puts a lot of work into it, and this growing power is a big reward for him.” - Max Commencal

A huge thanks to all the team partners for making this possible and allowing us to chase our dreams:

So... Who will be on the other team? They still need at least 1 rider to make that new team official.
According to French forums, it will be:
A.) Nico Quéré
B.) Rémy Métailler

 B.) Rémy Métailler

he's sold his old stuff and he's a rad dude. It's lining up too well to not be him.

But doesn't he need 20 UCI points in order to race world cups?

He can be entered by his national federation but must then wear national team clothing. It's a workaround to lack of points and a rider with his skill wil certainly gather some points in the race so that for the next races he can enter with his team. (I don't know if big teams do this kind of stuff because sponsors on jerseys are important?).
I also don't know if a rider has to accumulate 20 point in the year prior going to WC to be allowed in or is it checked directly before signing up to a race?

pretty sure you can accumulate UCI points throughout the year and you just have to have enough points when you enter the race to be eligible for it.

Good move for Commencal. Between Cam, Remi, and Myriam, they've got a real shot at racking up some podiums this year. Hopefully the big guy comes back strong, focused, and ready to win.

Remi's win last year was great, was a man possessed!

Pinkbike, once upon a time, would have a "Title image by: source" in their articles. It would be an easy automatic thing. I miss that.

Such fun bikes to ride. So good looking too. Loved mine. Wanted it to beat the scalp down a hill so badly, it just couldnt, not in 2 months of testing. If I was not having it as a race bike, i would have the commy every time. Would be so much fun as a bike for up in the mountains with a 180mm fork, all air. Climbs so well up the tech stuff for a big bike.
