Anton Cooper claimed the win in the Men s U23 race the kid took the Junior World Champs win last year--his last season as a junior and this is his first win as a U23 racer. Look for him to graduate to the Elites in another season.

Bell lap for the Men s U23... There s not a racer alive who doesn t get a surge of adrenalene when they hear that sound.

The XC was on SportsNet 1 in Canada for most of the day yesterday. I normally only watch DH, but I have to say this XC was pretty entertaining, especially the women's race. The DH is scheduled on SN1 today as well for anyone who'd rather watch on their TV.

The fitness of top level and even not top level guys is incredible. At bcbr the motos are out paced by the lead pack. I didn't believe that until I was told by one of the moto guys.

I thought that photo of Anton Cooper had been tilted for impressiveness until I looked at the trees. He looks super composed as well, definitely a future xc star.

Hermida pic #5 from bottom, wow those legs!

Sitting here with a broken foot and wishing I had legs like that = broken planet earth instead.

Beautiful shot of Cooper. I'm not sure whether it's the angle, but the XC courses may finally be getting more technical. Glad to see mixed coverage on PB.

5th photo down: That's Annika Langvad, not Lea Davison. Either way, congrats on the podium, Lea!

Surprised that up to this date no one is still using a dropper post in xc races. That is why they cannot rail the corners and can't go fast on the dh part.

Yip I always hit my nuts on the seat when I do some rocky tech stuff. Maybe I should get a dropper.

Are you serious... "can't go fast on the dh part." Wow! Are you not aware of the kind of results that riders like Absalon and Schurter get when they race again DH pro's at events like Megavalanche? Why is it that slow gravity riders who rely way too heavily on their overkill bikes always feel the need to rip on XC articles.

I agree. no full face or protection to speak of and they will hit rock gardens like a mofo!
