A few years ago NS Bikes decided to launch a new brand of frames and components that were designed to be strong, functional and affordable. The aim was to offer components that were not as sophisticated as NS Bikes and would allow riders to build nice bikes without having to spend a fortune.
This season Octane One is stepping up one notch and the whole line has been seriously revamped and pumped up with some high end features, colours and designs. The prices however stayed on the same level which is a very good news for everyone looking for some fresh and yet affordable components.
Brand new Octane One Spark frames during 2011 photoshoot
This small revolution began in the frames department. From this year there is a new frame dedicated for street and park appropriately named the Spark.
Octane One Spark - street and park dedicated frame designed for 24" wheels.
This is great news for all 24” wheels enthusiast as the Spark's frame geometry is designed for 24" wheels only. It’s a perfect choice for low travel suspension forks (60-100mm) or rigid forks. The frame features medium front-end length, short compact rear end with a high BB. The head angle is quite steep – perfect for quick handling and easy front wheel tricks. The chain stays will let you adjust the rear wheel position within the 365-381mm range. The Sparks head tube is designed to work with an integrated headset and comes with a standard threaded BB shell so you can easily fit your favorite mountain bike cranks. With simple & straight seat stays and small dropouts w/o a derailleur hanger and cable guides you get weight saving and perfect clean look. Custom butted tubes beefed up in the stress areas keep weight low and strength high. An additionally reinforced top tube / seat tube junction is tough enough to survive abuse from tailwhips and 360’s.

In 2011 we can also get a new version of Void frame which comes with more dirt oriented geometry and is designed especially for 26” wheels and some brand new colors and finishes. The BB is lowered for more stability, and to fit higher forks with more travel. At the same time the frame gets a slightly steeper head angle for quicker handling. The rear end is compact and short and you adjust the rear wheel position within the 379-395mm range. The head tube is designed to work with integrated headsets. The seat tube extension over the top tube has been shortened and the frame has an integrated seat post clamp. The frame has no V-brakes mounts that would mess with the clean look, and the Void comes with disk brake mounts and fit rotors up to 185mm.
Octane One Void 3.0 - new version comes with more dirt oriented geometry and is designed especially for 26" wheels and has brand new colors and finishes
Same as in the Spark frame the custom butted tubes have been beefed up in the stress areas keep weight low and strength high. Similar to last year’s model the new Void has been made from high quality double butted 4130 cro-mo steel making it a really strong frame.
To match Void and Spark frames, the Orbital hubs are now also available in brand new colors and finishes. Everyone will find something suitable for their riding style - from casette to single speed hubs which are also offered in premium versions.

Octane One Chemical 31.8 handlebars - width 710mm, weight 380g
New Chemical Pro 31.8 handlebars were specifically designed for 4x, Slopestyle, Freeride and Downhill. They are strong enough to take hardcore beating but light enough to be used for racing. Made from butted 7075 aluminium, with low rise are really wide (770mm) and come with stylish shape.

As we all know, wide bars provide more leverage and make the bike stable and easier to control at higher speeds. A lot of backsweep makes them feel comfortable. The new bars feature amazing price to quality ratio.
In the crank department the very popular 3 pcs and 3 pcs Pro models continue unchanged in matching colors.
Octane One 3PCS PRO premium cromoly crank set
This year’s new addition is the 2pcs crank which will weight only 800g without BB.
Octane One 2PCS PRO premium cromoly crank set
The lightest & strongest Octane One tubular cromoly crankset comes in a popular & trendy two piece format. Designed as a complete set dedicated for MTB frames with unique external bottom bracket included. Comes with strong Spanish BB 19mm bearings in external alloy cups and the result is wider and stiffer system w/o weight penalty.
D2 aluminum cranks are a fresh addition to Octane One 2011 product line. They are durable, good looking and lightweight ISIS type crank sets made from super strong aluminum 7050.

Octane One 2011 Pivotal, Combo and Rocker saddles
It will also be possible to get a Combo integrated seat. This super light & clean looking 1 piece seat-post combo will feature slim padding and micro suede cover. Constructed of a plastic base and connected with aluminum 25.4mm post. This results in very competitive weight & price comparing to any standard set of seat + post.
Octane One Combo integrated seat & post - weight 245g
With all these new parts and components it would be a real shame not to promote them by having some skilled riders involved. That is why this year the Octane One factory team was joined by a skilled rider from UK – Blake Samson. Along with Pawel “Turbo” Turno and Filip Soczynski from Poland they will be representing the brand during top events across the Europe in the upcoming season.

octaine polish.

dartmoor polish.
what do you think?
First paragraph of the article, so yes, absolutely the point of these products. I think you should probably read the article before posting next time Seraph!
Such actions is just a kick in the face of smaller and medium producers like Hope. If they are gone because of too much cheap shyte on the market, and such high quality is killed, the result is easy to see. in 10 years we will all have a choice between cheap shyte and expensive whatever.
Your overly long comments annoy me at the best of times, but they are usually justified because although they do go on for a long time; they are usually correct and to the point. In most of them you clearly do normally know what you are talking about, but today's one is just too far. It sounds like you are trying to post a long comment for the sake of it without really giving it a lot of thought or any real knowledge about what you are basing it on. Have you ever ridden any NS componentry besides their frames? I am hugely biased because I love their stuff, but their district bars are amazing and I don't think that I will ever use different ones on a dj bike. Its expensive stuff but it costs that much for a reason, they're strong and light and a lot of research goes into making them. And what's with comparing them to nuke proof? They're not really targeting the same market. NS are there pretty much for DJ and I dont think (I may be wrong) that nuke proof make any DJ orientated parts. NS products are much better Atomblab's.
Again sorry for my rage, and also long comment! I'm sure when I look back at this later and see all the hate and neg props, i'l be like why did I post that!
As for NS, I did have several of their products, 3 handlebars, a stem, 4 hubs, 2 sets of pedals. I also had other stuff frmo other companies. Their first generation of hubs was whatever yet it still costed like Shimano XT. Second generation is better but the price has been pumped nearly to Hope level and I would never ever choose them. At the same time Dartmoor was doing very decent hubs that I fitted on my cousins bike, lighter and cheaper. Bars were shit, honestly, I've bent first generation X-UP easily, then I had the Chilli bar which got bent like 15 degrees after bad landing on a dirt jump and it was nothing special. Later on I got myself Easton EA 50 Bars and due to many crashes even on DH competitions, never had any problem with them. Now I run Answer Bars and they are awesome. Same goes to my "budget" flat bars from KORE. Pedals, I got 2 pancakes, after 2 years the first ones were done, and I rode only AM with them. Then I bought second generation ones just for the sake of being cheap - same again. PRO Stem was double the price of at that time honestly ugly Dartmoor, quality was worse than Hussefelt. Unfinished edges of the mold, they just took it out and put straight to drilling and anodizing. Comparing to NP and Hope on CRC, NS prices are so slightly lower that I prefer either buying something cheaper or spending few extra quid on better stuff.
I guess you find it all over your country in food sector don't you? at least cheap bike parts is not what you eat, unlike cheap food from malls and "net-restaurants", they don't cause diabetes, heart disease and cancer
But thanks for invitation, If I'm around I'll let you give me a kick in the arse, but you fix the beer and it better not be the Bud (as for stereotypes ) You guys have some fine mini breweries which ship stuff to Sweden from time to time, I want a piece of that.
