once in a lifetime experience....so true for greek riders :-/
  • + 13
Cmon man, trek up Mt Olympus, I'm sure there are some godly (shittiest pun ive ever done...) trails up there
  • + 1
not only is the ride down awesome but even the ride up!
  • + 2
yes thats true. olympos mt has 5 stars tracks. and north greece, special rodopi's mts. around giannena, kalampaka, evia even the cyclades- ios island where i came from, has some scary rocky descents. there're no uplifts or cafe in the woods. no flow to take, no skills areas or pump tracks. but there're beach bars and tavernas at the end of the track and an other mountain next to ride and an other. i live and ride uk the last 4 years. what i love here is the uplift, the man made tracks and the long rides without gates or lanes. if there were more mountains !!!! what i love in greece are the mountains, hundreds of them and the loneliness up there.
everywhere singletracks. like BC or Alpes or more like spain (?). Here i hate not being able to free camp easily.back home i hate the goats and the heat. is out there the PERFECT TRACK? give me a new T4 and one more life and i'll find it

hahaha looks like an average trail around here

true but very unusual for North Americans to have lift-served alpine biking
  • + 9
It's like opposite world. We go crazy for the jumps and berms in the Whistler bike park, because everybody in Europe utterly sucks at building bike parks. And then the North Americans go crazy for some alpine single track that you can literally find on every single mountain in the Alps, usually serviced by gondolas, chair lifts, trains, buses etc.
  • + 1
Ha, yes. Not to mention the alp restaurants. Only the Kronplatz in Suedtirol and the trails off Chantarella in Engadin were good imo. Rest of the bike parks were pretty ordinary
  • + 2
there is a bike park coming soon in switzerland, some whistler shapers and chatel bike park shapers are working on it togheter with scott... they say its gonna be comparable to whistler!...
  • + 1
also jumps you can find at Chatel bike park, wich is technically france, but is part of "les portes du soleil".. with champery, morgins, etc... I think is the best spot for biking ever existed!!! check some chatel videos and well champery im sure you know Wink
  • + 1
Did you ride in France and Andorra??

Im very ashamed to say that i live about 4 hours away from there and i haven't been there yet ..this is looking like the year i finally go there
  • + 18
You should. You are very lucky to have such bike park in your country.
  • + 10
I'm ashamed that I've been to whistler and not gone riding :l
  • + 29
 is that legal?
  • + 2
I'm very ashamed to say I'm in Whistler and haven't ridden it. Maybe next week.
  • + 7
 Oh I mean the peak.
  • + 2
I rode it last year, best $15 I ever spent...
  • + 1
kamloops got some sick trails too though right? wasnt one segment in seasons filmed there?
  • + 1
@cuban-b Good trails but completely different style comparably speaking to Whistler.

Top of the world to khybers one day on the am bike, then totw to rds the next on the dh bike.... now that is 2 fun days riding.
  • + 1
Great shout! TOTW to ride RDS followed by a Dusty's burger (if you make it down) is one of the best days I've had on a bike

i ve seen it last year...0h it s nice and everything but not maybe suitable for a big rig with a 200 mm fork....i guess a xc rider will enjoy it more or enduro whatever you call it....
[Reply]

My 130mm Transition Bandit ate this trail up. Double black XC trail maybe, more like a single black DH trail.
  • + 3
blue dh trail... the point is it's scenic though, it's not supposed to have huge hits
  • + 3
It is a single black DH trail, there's only one tiny double black section at the very top.

 5k of vert?! In-freakin'-credible...!
[Reply]
  • + 1
It's an extra 15$ to do it but its worth it
[Reply]
  • + 1
Can i bring my XC/HT ...? Wanna ride that vert!
  • + 5
Sure thing. The top of the trail is the most technical but it ends shortly and gets into flowy single track. Easily ridable on an XC bike.
After Top of the World ends, you need to ride Freight Train which is an advanced jump trail. An XC bike isn't the best for Freight Train but you will still be able to make it down.

with the brake ruts freight train was running last weekend it's a slog even on a full DH bike...an XC bike would fall apart (or you would) with any kind of speed. i cou;dn't believe where there were brake bumps. spots people have no business even braking
  • + 5
 "bring a tube"
  • + 1
Hit kybers after, better for xc
  • + 1
Is there any singletrack to ride up to the top rather than taking the lift? From the sounds of things this would be the trail I would like best if I somehow managed to get to Whistler.
  • + 1
You don't need to ride freight train, you could ride no joke > duffman > golden triangle > World Cup singletrack > HO chi min > monkey hands and avoid jump trails the whole way to the valley if you wanted too
  • + 1
Thanx @ henry&WMBP for the info!! Im getting stoked to be there in the fall!
[Reply]
  • + 1
Awesome Vid! Can't wait to ride it! just not that fast!
[Reply]
  • + 1
Sweet! Can you ride this trail on AM type bike?
  • + 2
for sure, maybe not for everyone but I had a blast on my Altitude!
  • + 1
I'm going to lean towards it being best on an AM bike on the singletrack stuff, the DH bike was a bit long in places.
  • + 1
Yes. I rode it last year on my Operator, and I would say it would arguably be more fun on a proper AM/Trail/Enduro/Whatever-you-want-to-call-it bike.
[Reply]
  • + 1
Looks good, should have done it last year

Looks to have nearly as many rocks as Northstar. Wait, no. Northstar has more.
  • + 1
Yeah but Northstar doesn't have near the amount of vertical nor steepness and awesome dirt. Not that Northstar isn't fun...
  • + 2
I won't argue that. Schleyer is prob my all-time fave too.

 Rocky Mountain Flatline
  • + 3
 Looks like a Flatline.
[Reply]
  • - 2
can you ski that in the winter?
  • + 1
The first part of TOTW is out of bounds in the winter. It then swings back into skiable terrain eventually.
  • + 2
The majority of upper Top of the World is actually in out of bounds terrain in the winter. The trail makes it's way back in bounds near West Bowl and then highway 86 where it brings you back into the regular park.
  • + 1
not to mention you couldn't even find it given how much snow is up there. But it sure is cool to see the terrain you ski in the summer. You couldn't ride 99% of the terrain you can ski up there!
  • + 1
@ WhistlerMountainBikePark, We are coming Saturday. Can we/Do we need to call and reserve TOTW tickets?
  • + 2
I don't think you can reserve at all, you have to be in person to pay and sign up there
